Jackson Blake - Inks entry-level contract Blake signed a three-year, entry-level contract Wednesday. The 2023-24 campaign will count as the first season of that agreement.
Impact Blake scored 22 goals and 60 points in 40 NCAA games with the University of North Dakota this season. His superb play at the college level has resulted in him being a top-three finalist for the Hobey Baker Award. The Hurricanes took him with the No. 109 overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, but given Blake's growth, he might prove to be a steal at that draft position. It wouldn't be surprising if Blake makes his Hurricanes debut next season or even gets his first taste of NHL hockey in one of the last contests of the 2023-24 campaign.

Jeremy Swayman - Comes up short against Carolina Swayman stopped 22 shots in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Hurricanes.
Impact The 25-year-old netminder held Carolina off the board in the first period, but things began to unravel for Boston after Andrei Svechnikov scored a Michigan goal midway through the second frame. Swayman is stumbling to the finish line on the regular season -- he's given up at least three goals in five of his last seven starts, going 4-3-0 with a 3.12 GAA and .874 save percentage over that stretch.

Seth Jarvis - Pots 30th goal Jarvis scored a shorthanded goal in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Bruins.
Impact His third-period tally wrapped up the scoring on the night, and it gave Jarvis his 30th goal of the season -- not bad for a player who had 31 in 150 games over his first two NHL campaigns. The 22-year-old winger has had a breakout season with 63 points in 79 games, and he's picked up the pace with the playoffs approaching, racking up 10 goals and 13 points over the last 14 contests.

Andrei Svechnikov - Two points against Boston Svechnikov scored a goal and added an assist in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Bruins.
Impact The 24-year-old winger opened the scoring midway through the second period with a Michigan goal, the third of his career. Svechnikov has found the back of the net in back-to-back games, but that comes on the heels of a 10-game goal drought. He's had a tough, injury-marred season, but he needs one more goal in Carolina's final three games to record the fifth 20-goal campaign of his career.

Pyotr Kochetkov - Wins third straight Kochetkov made 22 saves in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Bruins.
Impact Charlie McAvoy spoiled his shutout bid late in the second period, but it was still an impressive effort from the 24-year-old netminder. He's thriving in a timeshare with Frederik Andersen -- Kochetkov has won three straight starts and has only one regulation loss in his last seven, going 5-1-1 with a 2.26 GAA and .912 save percentage as the Hurricanes try to catch the Rangers for the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
