SEPTEMBER 25 • HOCKEYFEED.COM

Placed on waivers Tanev was placed on waivers by the Mammoth on Friday for the purpose of assignment to AHL Tucson.

Impact Tanev appeared in 56 regular-season games with the Mammoth last year and recorded no goals, three assists, 155 hits, 50 PIM and 34 blocked shots while averaging 9:22 of ice time. The 34-year-old has plenty of NHL experience but is slated to begin the 2026-27 regular season in the minors if he clears waivers.

Contributes helper in win Tanev logged an assist and blocked three shots in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Canucks.

Impact Tanev has been in the lineup for four straight games. The 34-year-old has a chance to play regularly down the stretch while Barrett Hayton (upper body) and Jack McBain (lower body) are out on a week-to-week basis. Tanev has had a disappointing campaign with just three assists over 50 outings. He's added 135 hits, 50 PIM and 34 shots on net, but the physicality doesn't outweigh the total lack of offense, which could cause him to be a healthy scratch once the Mammoth are closer to full strength.

Stuck in press box Tanev was scratched for the fifth straight game Saturday.

Impact Tanev's lost his place in the lineup to Alex Kerfoot, who returned from an upper-body injury coming out of the Olympic break. The 34-year-old Tanev has had a nightmarish first season with Utah, producing just two assists with 32 shots on net, 125 hits, 28 PIM, 26 blocked shots and a minus-14 rating over 45 contests. This is the first season of his three-year deal carrying a $2.5 million cap hit.

Picks up helper Wednesday Tanev logged an assist, two shots on goal, seven hits and three blocked shots in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Senators.

Impact Tanev helped out on Daniil But's goal in the third period. This was just Tanev's second game since he spent 10 contests in the press box as a healthy scratch amid a lengthy slump. He had gone 25 contests without a point prior to Wednesday. The fourth-line winger has a mere two assists with 22 shots on net, 86 hits, 16 blocked shots and a minus-8 rating over 31 appearances in his first year with the Mammoth.

JANUARY 8 • ROTOWIRE

Cold on offense Tanev's point drought reached 22 games in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Sharks.

Impact Tanev has racked up 44 hits but has just 11 shots on net and a minus-9 rating in that span. The 33-year-old winger's reputation as a strong defensive forward is often enough to keep him in the lineup, but the lack of offense is becoming glaring for a Mammoth team that's lost four straight games. Even if Tanev can avoid getting scratched, his fourth-line role should keep most fantasy managers away.

Impact The helper was Tanev's first point in five games with the Mammoth. The 33-year-old winger has opened the season as a regular on the fourth line, providing his trademark defensive work and physicality. He's collected six shots on net, 25 hits, four blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating so far this season and looks to be a regular in the lineup.

Receives three-year pact Tanev signed a three-year, $7.5 million contract with Utah on Tuesday, according to Pierre LeBrun of TSN.

Impact The Mammoth have a plethora of skill in the top six, so it's not surprising they wanted to add more grit to the bottom half of the lineup in the form of Tanev. The 33-year-old winger recorded 10 goals, 22 points, 168 hits, 105 blocked shots and a minus-12 rating over 79 regular-season outings with Seattle and Winnipeg this past season.

Nabs helper in win Tanev logged an assist and six hits in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Stars.

Impact Tanev snapped a five-game slump with the helper. The 33-year-old continues to operate on the Jets' fourth line, so his offense is likely to be limited barring injuries to other forwards. He's at 22 points, 95 shots on net, 164 hits, 103 blocked shots and a minus-9 rating over 76 appearances between the Jets and the Kraken this season.
