ImpactThe helpers are nice and all, but Pageau still only has 24 points through 60 games as a middle-six contributor with a role on the secondary man-advantage unit. It doesn't help that in this campaign, he's averaging only 1.22 shots per game compared to a 1.76 rate between eight years with the Senators and five years running for the Isles. Pageau does have a goal and five assists shorthanded in 2023-24, but it comes at the expense of a single power-play point. All told, Pageau is best viewed as an option in deep leagues.

ImpactLee contributed an assist on Kyle Palmieri's first period hat trick and then followed that up by potting one of his own to start the second period. It was his 16th goal of the year and he added a hit, three shots and a plus-3 rating in 15:42 of ice time. This was his first point in three games and only his fifth in his past seven. With only 25 points on the season, fantasy managers should consider looking at other options on the waiver wire.

Bo Horvat - Logs two helpersHorvat provided two assists -- including a power-play helper -- in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Bruins.
ImpactHorvat contributed to a dominant first two periods by the Islanders by putting up two apples on the way to a 5-0 lead over the Bruins. He added one shot on net in 19:03 of ice time. In the past 10 games for Horvat he has three goals and four assists. While his recent performance has not been off the charts, in deeper leagues he can be considered a dependable fantasy asset as the Islanders fight for their playoff lives.

Kyle Palmieri - Explodes for four pointsPalmieri scored three goals and added a helper in Saturday's 5-1 victory over the Bruins.
ImpactWhat a start to the game for Palmieri. He scored his third NHL hat trick in the first period and then added an assist on the fourth goal of the game in the second period. In addition to his four-point night, Palmieri added three shots and a plus-3 rating in only 15:27 of ice time. Palmieri has been a very streaky player this season as he had a recent six-game point streak and then followed that up by not getting a point in five straight games. While Palmieri's performance is encouraging, it's important to manage expectations as he has not topped 50 points in a season since the 2018-19 season.

Ilya Sorokin - Cruises to winSorokin stopped 22 of 23 shots in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Bruins.
ImpactSorokin played with a big lead early and often, as Kyle Palmieri scored a natural hat trick in the first period alone and the Islanders followed that up with two more goals in the second. The only blemish on Sorokin's night was a Bruins goal late in the second period. He stopped all three power-play shots he faced and finished with a solid .957 save percentage. This was Sorokin's third win in a row. Look for the Islanders to ride Sorokin as they push for a playoff spot.
