Semyon Varlamov - Starting in Montreal Varlamov will guard the road goal Saturday against Montreal, according to Andrew Gross of Newsday.

Impact Varlamov has stopped 120 of 133 shots during his four-game win streak. He will get the second half of New York's back-to-back after Ilya Sorokin played in Friday's 5-4 shootout loss to Boston. Varlamov has posted a 6-3-1 record this season with a 2.60 GAA and a .921 save percentage in 10 appearances. The Canadiens rank 28th in the league this campaign with 2.62 goals per game.

Mathew Barzal - Two helpers in Friday's loss Barzal notched two assists, one on the power play, in Friday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Bruins.

Impact The 26-year-old helped set up tallies by Alexander Romanov in the second period and Brock Nelson in the third, but it was Barzal's somewhat embarrassing fail on a shootout attempt that might have had the biggest impact on the final result. Impact The two teams combined for five straight power-play goals between the second and third periods, and Nelson delivered both his points in the latter frame. The 32-year-old has three multi-point performances in seven games to kick off December, racking up three goals and nine points over that stretch -- including two tallies and three helpers on the man advantage. Nelson remains on track to top 35 goals for the third straight season, having lit the lamp 13 times in 29 contests.

Ilya Sorokin - Falls to Boston in shootout Sorokin stopped 30 shots in regulation and overtime and one of three shootout attempts in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Bruins.

Impact Five of the eight goals scored in regulation came on power plays, including three of Boston's four tallies, but Sorokin ran out of excuses in the shootout as both Charlie Coyle and David Pastrnak beat him glove-side.
