Vyacheslav Buteyets - Makes debut in relief
Buteyets stopped 10 of 13 shots in relief of Ville Husso in Wednesday's 7-0 loss to the Mammoth.
Impact
Buteyets played the third period, but he didn't perform all that well in his NHL debut. The 23-year-old is with the Ducks while Lukas Dostal (upper body) and Petr Mrazek (lower body) are out, but it'll likely be Husso getting the bulk of the playing time. Buteyets may still get a start at some point if both of the Ducks' regular goalies are out for a long enough stretch of time.

Ville Husso - Struggles in blowout loss
Husso stopped 17 of 21 shots in two periods of Wednesday's 7-0 loss to the Mammoth.
Impact
Husso has alternated wins and losses over his four appearances so far, allowing 10 goals on 71 shots. The 30-year-old was replaced by Vyacheslav Buteyets for the third period of this contest. Husso is primed for the Ducks' starting job in goal for at least a couple of weeks while Lukas Dostal (upper body) and Petr Mrazek (lower body) are both out. The playing time and the Ducks' offense make Husso a decent fantasy option, but only if he can settle in and provide competitive performances between the pipes. The Ducks have a tough matchup ahead when they host the Capitals on Friday.

Mikael Granlund - Nearing return
Granlund (lower body) might be able to return by the end of Anaheim's current homestand, according to Derek Lee of The Hockey News on Wednesday.
Impact
The Ducks' final home game in their current stretch is Sunday against Chicago. If Granlund isn't ready for that game, then head coach Joel Quenneville is leaving the door open for him to make his return on the road instead. Anaheim will begin a five-game road trip Tuesday in Pittsburgh. Granlund should serve in a top-six capacity once he's ready to play.

Ville Husso - Guarding home goal
Husso is expected to start at home against Utah on Wednesday, per Zach Cavanagh of The Sporting Tribune.
Impact
Husso stopped 21 of 22 shots en route to a 4-1 victory over St. Louis on Monday. He didn't make his NHL season debut until Nov. 28, but Husso is set to appear in his fourth straight game because Anaheim is without goaltenders Petr Mrazek (lower body) or Lukas Dostal (upper body). Utah is tied for 19th in goals per game with 2.96.

Petr Mrazek - Set for 2-3 week absence
Mrazek (lower body) is expected to be out of action for the next 2-3 weeks, Derek Lee of The Hockey News reports Wednesday.
Impact
Mrazek was previously deemed day-to-day, so this latest update seems to indicate the netminder is dealing with something more severe. It's been a tough start to the 2025-26 campaign for the 33-year-old Czech, as he is sporting a .876 save percentage to go with his 3-3-0 record. With Lukas Dostal (upper body) also on injured reserve, the Ducks will have to ride Ville Husso in the crease for the time being.

Chris Kreider - Fills empty cage
Kreider scored an empty-net goal on two shots and blocked three shots in Monday's 4-1 win over the Blues.
Impact
Kreider has scored in three straight games and has gotten on the scoresheet in four consecutive outings. The 34-year-old winger is up to 13 goals, 19 points, 48 shots on net and a plus-4 rating over 22 appearances. Kreider's 27.1 shooting percentage is a bit of a red flag, but he's always been fairly efficient with his chances, so any regression is unlikely to be steep. Playing in an elite offense in a top-six role should give him enough volume to remain productive.

Mason McTavish - Opens scoring in win
McTavish scored a goal on four shots, blocked two shots, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Monday's 4-1 win over the Blues.
Impact
The Ducks spread the ice time around while dressing just 11 forwards, leading to McTavish receiving just 14:17. He's still listed as the second-line center and has eight points in his last 10 outings, but he's been under the 15-minute mark in six of those contests. Overall, the 22-year-old is at six goals, 19 points, 45 shots on net, 28 hits, 34 PIM and a plus-4 rating through 26 appearances. He's got talent and is in a good role, but fantasy managers may want to monitor his usage a bit longer to make sure he doesn't slip into the bottom six.

Pavel Mintyukov - One of each Monday
Mintyukov scored a goal on three shots, added an assist, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Monday's 4-1 win over the Blues.
Impact
Mintyukov has three points over his last three games. He's played well enough to allow the Ducks to use seven defensemen, which also gave Ian Moore a chance to play Monday. Those two blueliners have been competing for one spot this year, but there could be room for both of them if head coach Joel Quenneville is open to sticking with seven blueliners. Mintyukov is up to six points, 20 shots on net, 29 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over 23 appearances this season.

Leo Carlsson - Earns two points Monday
Carlsson scored a goal and added an assist in Monday's 4-1 win over the Blues.
Impact
Carlsson helped the Ducks extend their lead in the third period, scoring at 5:58 of that frame before setting up Chris Kreider's empty-netter. This performance extended Carlsson's point streak to seven games (three goals, seven assists). The 20-year-old center is up to 14 goals, 22 helpers, 64 shots on net, 23 PIM and a plus-13 rating over 26 appearances. That's a pace that would see him end up over the 100-point threshold if he's able to maintain his production and health. He could regress a bit, as he's shooting 21.9 percent, but his importance to the Ducks is obvious.

ROTOWIRE
Ville Husso - Steady in Monday's win
Husso stopped 21 of 22 shots in Monday's 4-1 win over the Blues.
Impact
Husso gave up a goal to Jordan Kyrou in the first period, but that was it. Over his first three games of the season, Husso is 2-1-0 with six goals allowed on 50 shots, with his one loss coming in a brief relief appearance. The 30-year-old will likely see a majority of the starts until Petr Mrazek (lower body) or Lukas Dostal (upper body) returns. The Ducks don't have any back-to-backs in the near term, so expect Husso to get the nod Wednesday at home versus the Mammoth.
