Not playing Saturday Romanov (upper body) has been ruled out of Saturday's tilt in Ottawa, per Andrew Gross of Newsday.

Impact Romanov will miss his first game of the season. He has yet to pick up a point in four games this season, but has 15 hits and 12 blocked shots. Adam Boqvist will draw into the lineup to replace Romanov.

Impact Romanov's deal will make him the highest-paid blueliner on New York's roster, coming in just ahead of veteran Ryan Pulock. In terms of fantasy value, Romanov won't impress offensively, having failed to reach the 25-point mark at any point in his five-year NHL career, but he can produce in banger formats. The 25-year-old Russian dished out 147 hits while adding 165 blocks in just 64 regular-season games last year and should continue to produce in those categories.

He's remained in a top-four role despite the lack of offense -- his playing style focuses on physicality and defense more than scoring. Romanov is up to 19 points, 91 shots on net, 158 blocks, 142 hits and a plus-9 rating over 60 appearances. Were it not for injuries, he likely would have been able to surpass the 22-point total he logged in each of the previous two seasons, though he could still do it with a strong finish to 2024-25.
