Two points in preseason win Gaudette scored a goal and an assist, both on the power play, in Tuesday's 4-3 preseason win over the Canadiens.

Impact Brady Tkachuk and Tim Stutzle both left the game early due to upper-body injuries, which allowed Gaudette to get some extra time with the man advantage. The 27-year-old is on a two-way contract in his second stint with Ottawa after spending most of 2023-24 in the AHL, and if either or both of Tkachuk and Stutzle end of being sidelined for the start of the season, it would greatly improve Gaudette's chances of breaking camp on the NHL roster. Even in that scenario, however, he would be headed for a bottom-six role, and behind Josh Norris and Shane Pinto in the pecking order for power-play shifts.
