Michael Carter - Concussion confirmed Head coach Robert Saleh confirmed that Carter was placed in the concussion protocol after exiting in Sunday's 28-24 loss to the Buccaneers, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports. Impact Carter got off to a nice start Sunday with three carries for 54 yards to go with a nine-yard reception on the Jets' two scoring drives in the first quarter, but the head injury prevented him from turning in an even bigger performance. According to Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record, Saleh said the Jets are hopeful Carter can clear the five-step protocol ahead of the Week 18 game in Buffalo, so the rookie won't be shut down if he makes good progress in his recovery over the next few days. After Carter departed Sunday, Austin Walter led the backfield with 14 carries for 49 yards, but Tevin Coleman (reserve/COVID-19 list) could step in as the Jets' No. 1 option on the ground if he's cleared to play in Buffalo and Carter isn't available.
