Kyle Philips - Only impact on special teams Philips failed to bring in his only target and returned two punts for 16 yards in the Titans' 23-10 preseason loss to the Ravens on Thursday night.

Impact The rookie fifth-round pick drew the second target of the night on the opening drive from Malik Willis, but that was the extent of his involvement on offense. Philips did muster a 13-yard return when the Ravens were forced to punt on their first drive, yet he wasn't able to carry over any of the momentum he'd generated as a receiver in recent camp practices. The UCLA product will need to have much more of a presence on offense beginning with the Titans' next exhibition matchup against the Buccaneers a week from Saturday night to make his case for slotting in a WR corps that also includes Robert Woods, Treylon Burks and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine.

Impact The rookie fourth-round pick, who is looking to cement a complementary/backup role in a backfield that also includes Derrick Henry and Dontrell Hilliard, was outperformed by undrafted free agent Julius Chestnut on the ground, but Haskins did a nice job showing off his receiving chops. The Michigan product saw one fewer carry than Chestnut, but he outpaced fellow depth backs Jordan Wilkins and Trenton Cannon by five rush attempts apiece. Haskins should get another fairly extensive look when the Titans face the Buccaneers in their second preseason game a week from Saturday night.

Impact The much-talked-about rookie was very quiet in his first game action, which offered Burks an early opportunity to quiet some of the criticism he'd faced earlier this offseason for his conditioning issues. The 18th overall pick naturally has a solid opportunity to make a first-year impact with A.J. Brown now in Philadelphia, and the Titans will almost certainly try to get him more involved in their next exhibition contest, which unfolds a week from Saturday night at home against the Buccaneers.

Julius Chestnut - Mixed bag in preseason opener Chestnut rushed seven times for 44 yards and secured his only target for 12 yards in the Titans' 23-10 preseason loss to the Ravens on Thursday night. He also lost a fumble.

Impact Chestnut's efficiency on a per-touch basis was impressive, although he did short-circuit the Titans' second drive with a fumble that ultimately led to the Ravens' first touchdown. The undrafted free agent has an uphill battle for a roster spot, but the miscue aside, Chestnut largely was able to carry over the momentum he'd generated in camp practices, and Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports head coach Mike Vrabel was pleased with how well the rookie bounced back from the early mistake. The Sacred Heart alum will look to continue making his case in the Titans' exhibition clash against the Buccaneers a week from Saturday night.

Malik Willis - Strong first impression in loss Willis completed six of 11 passes for 107 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and rushed five times for 38 yards and a score in the Titans' 23-10 preseason loss to the Ravens...

Impact Willis' night started slowly with three incompletions and a pair of three-play, five-yard drives sandwiched around a one-play possession that ended in a Julius Chestnut fumble. However, the rookie hit his stride from that point, completing six of his last eight attempts, the highlight of those throws a 48-yard completion to Racey McMath early in the second quarter on a drive that culminated in a field goal. Willis' rushing score, a seven-yard jaunt on the prior possession, was also a thing of beauty, as he reversed direction and beat multiple defenders to the end zone with speed and a nifty cutback move to get past the goal line. The high-upside third-round pick did take two sacks and naturally needs plenty more seasoning at the pro level, but in his first half of NFL action, he already flashed the strong arm and elite mobility that endeared him to to the organization. Willis' first opportunity to build on a strong initial performance comes in a preseason home matchup against the Buccaneers a week from Saturday night.
