Impact The Titans' decision to rule Burks out for Sunday's contest isn't surprising considering he didn't practice in any fashion Wednesday through Friday after exiting early in the Week 13 loss to the Eagles. The rookie first-round pick will set his sights on returning Week 15 against the Chargers, but he'll first have to clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol. In his absence versus Jacksonville, added pass-catching opportunities will be available for the likes of fellow wideouts Robert Woods and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, as well as tight ends Chigoziem Okonkwo and Austin Hooper.

Impact Burks has been unable to practice since exiting early in the Titans' Week 13 loss to the Eagles with the concussion. The rookie wide receiver will be hard pressed to clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol in time to face the Jaguars on Sunday, so those relying on Burks in fantasy lineups should have an alternative ready to go. Robert Woods and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine will lead Tennessee's receiving corps if Burks sits, but both wideouts failed to consistent produce useful numbers when Burks was sidelined Weeks 5 through 9.

Impact Simmons has dealt with an ankle injury that's kept him in and out of practice and questionable to play heading into each of the last three games. However, he's ultimately been ruled active for each of these contests, so his absence from practice shouldn't be overly concerning for his availability Sunday versus Jacksonville. Simmons will now have one more opportunity to increase his activity ahead of Friday's final injury report.

Impact After rolling an ankle in Sunday's loss to the Eagles, Tannehill was a limited participant in the Titans' first Week 14 practice session Wednesday. The Titans never expressed much doubt about Tannehill's status heading into this Sunday's game against the Jaguars, however, and the quarterback seemed to put to rest any concern about his health by taking every rep Thursday. While Tannehill looks like he'll be good to go this weekend, he may have to make do without top target Treylon Burks (concussion), who sat out practice for the second day in a row Thursday and looks to be trending toward sitting out Sunday.

Impact Austin Hooper remains the Titans' starting tight end and continues to hold an important role as a blocker and short-yardage target, but Okonkwo, a fourth-round rookie out of Maryland, appears poised to poach more work from both Hooper and Geoff Swaim. For the first time all season in the Week 13 loss to the Eagles, Okonkwo played more snaps (31) than both Hooper (26) and Swaim (20), finishing the day with four receptions for 68 yards on five targets. Okonkwo has now drawn five targets in consecutive games, and the big-play ability he's demonstrated -- he leads all NFL tight ends with three 40-yard receptions this season -- has him in position to see even more involvement in the passing game. The Titans could look to Okonkwo for snaps as a wide receiver, given that the position group is already short on impact contributors and could be further depleted this Sunday against the Jaguars with Treylon Burks in the concussion protocol and uncertain to be available.

Caleb Farley - Undergoes back procedure Farley underwent a microdiscectomy on his back Thursday to address a herniated disk, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact Farley has been on injured reserve since Nov. 15 and will not play again this year, although he is expected to be ready for the start of the Titans' offseason training program. John Glennon of SI.com notes that this is Farley's third back surgery since the start of his college career, as he previously underwent microdiscectomy's for an injured L5 disc and a bulged S1 disc. The second-year pro has played just 12 games since being selected in the first round of the 2021 Draft. With his season officially over, he'll now work to be ready for next season.

Impact Thompson can return to practice after being out since Week 9 and will now have a 21-day window to be activated. Impact Swaim played a season-low 20 snaps while continuing to give way to both Austin Hooper and Chigoziem Okonkwo.
