Jakeem Grant Sr. - Catches on with Atlanta The Falcons signed Grant to a one-year deal Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Impact Grant missed all of 2023 after suffering a ruptured patellar tendon in the preseason. He had a tryout with the Giants in July, but he will now head to Atlanta to compete for a return specialist role with the Falcons. His last full season was in 2021, when he played 15 regular-season games between the Dolphins and Bears, accumulating 250 punt return yards and one touchdown while adding 11 catches for 132 yards and two touchdowns.

Kion Smith - Placed on IR The Dolphins placed Smith (knee) on injured reserve Saturday.

Impact Smith tore his ACL in Friday's 20-13 preseason win over the Falcons. He was competing for a depth role on Miami's offensive line, but he will now turn his focus on recovering from his injury and getting ready for the 2025 season.

Aaron Brewer - Dealing with hand injury Head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters that Brewer did not play in Friday's 20-13 preseason win over the Falcons due to a hand injury, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.

Impact McDaniel added that Brewer had his hand examined during the last team practice before Friday's contest, and the center's injury is considered "week-to-week." Jack Driscoll got the start under center Friday, and Liam Eichenberg and Andrew Meyer can also step in and play center if Brewer were to miss extended time.

Ezekiel Vandenburgh - Scheduled for MRI Vandenburgh will get an MRI after sustaining a leg injury in Friday's 20-13 preseason win over the Falcons, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.

Impact Vandenburgh recorded one tackle before leaving at the end of the first quarter. The 25-year-old out of Illinois State is battling for a depth spot at inside linebacker, and a prolonged absence due to injury would hurt his already slim chances at making the Dolphins' 53-man roster.

Impact Smith was competing for a depth role on Miami's offensive line before sustaining this injury. As a result, his 2024 campaign will presumably come to a premature end. Expect a subsequent move to injured reserve for the undrafted rookie.

Grayson Murphy - Injures knee Murphy suffered a knee injury in Friday's 20-13 preseason victory over the Falcons, according to the Miami Herald.

Impact Murphy joined Miami as an undrafted free agent. When healthy, he is competing for a depth role at outside linebacker this season. Thus, a quick return from injury would be more beneficial for his chances.
