Impact Though Jones has been practicing on a limited basis this week, Judge noted that the third-year signal-caller won't be able to start Sunday since team doctors haven't cleared him to take contact while he contends with a neck strain. Glennon, who has also been taking reps with the first-team offense this week, will thus make his first start of the season with the Giants, after his lone previous action came in relief of a concussed Jones in Week 5 against the Cowboys. Over his most recent run as an NFL starter with the Jaguars in 2020, Glennon completed 62 percent of his passes for 6.0 yards per attempt and a 7:5 TD:INT over a five-game stretch. Given his unremarkable career numbers, lack of rushing contributions and matchup with a Miami pass defense that's turned a corner in recent weeks, Glennon likely won't be worthy of consideration outside of leagues that start two quarterbacks or have a superflex spot.

Impact In the process of guiding the Giants to a Week 12 win against the Eagles, Jones suffered what was eventually deemed to be a strained neck. He completed that contest but now is considered week-to-week as a result of the injury. With Jones in line for at least one absence, Glennon will step in for his second appearance of the season after taking over for a concussed Jones back in Week 5 at Dallas. While handling a 54 percent snap share, Glennon completed 16 of 25 passes for 196 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions against the Cowboys. Behind Glennon, Jake Fromm also is on the active roster after the Giants signed him off the Bills' practice squad.

Glennon averaged a solid 7.8 yards per attempt and connected with Barkley's replacement Devontae Booker for a three-yard scoring toss late in the fourth quarter. One of Glennon's two interceptions did result in a pick-six, however, although it came with 1:28 remaining and the game already out of reach. The 31-year-old could be set for another start in Week 6 against the tough Rams defense if Jones is unable to clear concussion protocol in time for that contest.
