Just one carry Sunday
Boone lost a yard on his only carry in Sunday's loss to Atlanta, a critical loss on a fourth-and-goal play.
Impact
Boone played on just five of the offense's 56 snaps as Ameer Abdullah (16 snaps) got more playing time as Alexander Mattison's backup with Dalvin Cook sidelined with a groin injury. Abdullah is used more in the passing game, and the Vikings were playing from behind a large deficit most of the game. Boone likely will return to a minimal role with Cook expected to return after Minnesota's Week 7 bye.

Steps into backup role
Boone had two carries for 19 yards in Sunday's loss at Seattle.
Impact
Boone had his first touches on offense this season after Dalvin Cook left the game with a groin injury. Boone has always been productive when on the field and could get playing time next week as Alexander Mattison's backup if Cook remains sidelined.

Ready to go against Titans
Boone (concussion) is listed as active heading into Sunday's matchup against the Titans.
Impact
The 25-year-old back suffered a concussion during the second quarter of Minnesota's Week 2 loss to Indianapolis, and he subsequently sat out Wednesday's practice session. Boone was upgraded to limited Thursday, and he has since passed the league's concussion protocol given his status for Sunday. Without a carry to this point on the season, Boone will slot into a depth role at running back during Week 3.

ROTOWIRE
Officially questionable for Week 3
Boone (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans.
Impact
Boone has trended up in practice since missing practice Wednesday, but the depth running back will need to clear concussion protocol in order to suit up on game day.

ROTOWIRE
Upgraded Thursday
Boone (concussion) was a limited participant during Thursday's practice.
Impact
After failing to practice Wednesday, Boone was able to participate in some capacity just a day later, casting some optimism for his Week 3 availability. Boone is still in the league's concussion protocol, so he'll have to be cleared to make an appearance Sunday. His Friday practice session should grant more of a clear picture about his chances for Sunday's game against Tennessee.

Not practicing Wednesday
Boone (concussion) didn't practice Wednesday.
Impact
Boone entered the league's concussion protocol during this past Sunday's loss to the Colts. He has two more practices to get on the field ahead of Week 3's matchup versus the Titans; otherwise, he'll likely miss his first game since 2018. Since he's played exclusively on special teams this season, his injury isn't a concern for the offensive dynamic.

Enters concussion protocol
Boone (concussion) won't return to Sunday's game against the Colts, Chad Graff of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Boone was forced to enter the protocol in the second quarter, and he won't return to the game when his team returns in the third quarter. The Cincinnati product will now need to gain clearance from independent league doctors before returning to action. Ameer Abdullah and Alexander Mattison will handle depth running back duties with Boone sidelined.

Plays only on special teams
Boone did not play a snap on offense in Sunday's loss to Green Bay. He did play 17 snaps on special teams.
Impact
Boone is listed as fourth on the RB depth chart, though he'd likely supplant Ameer Abdullah if Dalvin Cook or Alexander Mattison were to get hurt and the team needed someone to get significant carries. In the meantime, Boone's role will be limited almost exclusively to special teams.

Impact
Boone has had a strong training camp, but he's still the No. 3 running back behind Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison. While he may be one of the better No. 3 running backs in the league, he may not get many carries unless the top two running backs are injured.
