Impact The Chargers opened Hampton's 21-day practice window last Tuesday, but he wasn't activated from IR ahead of Week 13 action. While the running back is still limited at practice as Monday night's game against the Eagles approaches, coach Jim Harbaugh noted Wednesday that more will be known about Hampton's status "as the week unfolds...but what can I tell you, he's on track and looking good," Eric Smith of the Chargers' official site reports.

Quentin Johnston - Limited by shoulder injury Johnston (shoulder) was limited at practice Thursday.
Impact Per Kris Rhim of ESPN.com, Johnston wore a non-contact jersey during Thursday's session, with the Chargers' ensuing injury report revealing that the wideout is managing a shoulder issue. Johnston now has two more chances to upgrade his participation level ahead of Monday night's game against the Eagles. After recording five catches for 42 yards on 10 targets in Week 10, Johnston has been targeted three times in each of his last two outings, though he did manage to put up a 3/23/1 receiving line in this past Sunday's win over the Raiders.

Impact Herbert, who underwent surgery to stabilize a fracture in his left (non-throwing) hand Monday, sported a cast while tossing passes during Thursday's session, per Kris Rhim of ESPN.com. The QB now has two more chances to practice fully before injury designations for this coming Monday night's contest against the Eagles are posted, but on Wednesday, Herbert noted that "the plan is to prepare as if I'm going to play and see how the next couple of days goes." For his part, coach Jim Harbaugh said the Chargers are optimistic Herbert will play against Philadelphia, but they are preparing backup Trey Lance to start if necessary.
