Nearly leads comeback
Allen (arm) completed 31 of 42 passes for 280 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the Washington Football Team's 20-19 loss to the Giants on Sunday. He also rushed tw...
Impact
With his team down 10-0 after one quarter, Allen went to work, helping close the gap to 13-10 by halftime with a pair of 70-yard scoring drives, the latter which he closed with a pretty touch pass to Logan Thomas in the back left corner of the end zone. Allen would then spearhead a third 70-yard march that straddled the closing minute of the third quarter and the first 6:04 of the final period, one that culminated in a game-tying field goal. After committing a crucial fumble that was returned for a touchdown with 3:29 remaining, Allen bounced back in impressive fashion by capping a 75-yard drive with another nifty scoring toss in the left corner of the opposite end zone to Cam Sims with 36 seconds left. However, he wasn't able to convert the subsequent two-point conversion pass attempt, short-circuiting the comeback. Outside of the costly miscue, Allen certainly acquitted himself well from both a real-world and fantasy perspective, leaving him poised to remain in the starting role for a Week 7 divisional battle versus the Cowboys.

Logs full practice
Allen (arm) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Impact
Allen received medical clearance and proceeded to practice without limitation. His first start of the year was cut short after he took a hard hit to the arm, but he should be back in the lineup for Week 6 against the Giants. Coach Ron Rivera confirmed after Sunday's loss that he still views Allen as the starter, ahead of both Alex Smith and Dwayne Haskins (illness). Of course, Allen is probably just one or two bad games away from losing the job.

Haskins misses Washington practice, Allen to start at Giants

Medically cleared to practice
Allen (arm) has received full medical clearance and is slated to participate in Washington's first Week 6 practice Wednesday, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.
Impact
After supplanting Dwayne Haskins as Washington's starting quarterback heading into a Week 5 matchup with the Rams, Allen had his season debut cut short when he took a big hit to his arm from a Los Angeles defender in the second quarter. Before departing, Allen moved the offense effectively, completing nine of 13 attempts for 74 yards while rushing for a seven-yard touchdown on his lone carry. Coach Ron Rivera confirmed after the game that -- if healthy -- Allen would retain the starting job over Alex Smith and Haskins, so the fact that the 24-year-old is taking part in the team's first practice of the week bodes well for his chances of being ready to go for Sunday's game against the Giants. Later Wednesday, Washington will release its first Week 6 injury report, which will reveal whether Allen was a limited or full participant in practice.

Should be good for Week 6
Allen (arm) is expected to be healthy enough to start against the Giants in Week 6, barring any setbacks, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Impact
Coach Ron Rivera has confirmed on multiple occasions that Allen will start Week 6 as long as he's healthy, and it looks as though the third-year quarterback's arm injury isn't severe enough to seriously jeopardize his availability. He was forced out of Sunday's loss to the Rams due to a hit to his non-throwing arm. Washington also has Alex Smith, who relieved Allen versus Los Angeles, on hand as a capable backup, in addition to 2019 first-round pick Dwayne Haskins.
