Second Detroit WR on COVID-19 list The Lions placed Raymond on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday.
Impact Raymond becomes the second Detroit receiver to go on the list this week, joining Josh Reynolds. The 27-year-old theoretically has a chance to test out of the protocol before Sunday's game against the Seahawks if he's vaccinated and asymptomatic of the virus, but he'll most likely miss his first game of the season, given the timing of his placement on the list. If both Raymond and Reynolds are out this weekend, Detroit would have to rely on Tom Kennedy, KhaDarel Hodge and Trinity Benson to mix in for reps behind No. 1 wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Another forgettable stat line Raymond caught three of five targets for 12 yards while rushing once for five yards during Sunday's 20-16 loss to Atlanta.
Impact Playing through a shoulder injury, Raymond remained the third wheel behind Amon-Ra St. Brown (11 targets) and Josh Reynolds (seven) in the passing game. Only St. Brown managed any meaningful production with backup QB Tim Boyle, who struggled to complete passes down the field. Even if Jared Goff (COVID-19) manages to return in Week 17 against Seattle, Raymond will remain an inadvisable fantasy option.

Will play Sunday Raymond (shoulder) will play Sunday against the Falcons.
Impact Raymond was able to practice in a limited capacity all week, so his ability to suit up isn't unexpected. Raymond has had an inconsistent season with spiked weeks occasionally, but mostly producing subpar results. With Jared Goff on the COVID list and Tim Boyle drawing the start, Raymond's chances of a better than usual outing are reduced. Last time Boyle started in Week 11 against the Browns, Raymond played 70 percent of the snaps on offense and tallied one target with no receptions.

Receives questionable tag Detroit lists Raymond (shoulder) as questionable for Sunday's game in Atlanta.
Impact Raymond was able to practice in a limited capacity all week, which seemingly bodes well for his chances of getting the green light to play Sunday, despite his designation. Since raising eyebrows with a six-catch, 115-yard outing Week 7 against the Rams, Raymond has failed to come anywhere close to reaching those marks in any of his subsequent seven outings, combining to produce a 15-129-1 receiving line over 22 targets. With backup quarterback Tim Boyle stepping in at quarterback this week with regular starter Jared Goff (illness) not expected to be activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list prior to Sunday, Raymond is unlikely to reverse his trend of underwhelming stat lines.

Reps capped Thursday Raymond (shoulder) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Impact For the second day in a row, Raymond and fellow wideout Josh Reynolds (thigh) had their reps capped in practice. So long as the two receivers are able to practice again in some fashion Friday, Raymond and Reynolds should be on track to play Sunday in Atlanta, though one or both could carry a questionable tag into the contest. Raymond has played 60-plus percent of the Lions' offensive snaps in all but one of his 14 appearances this season, putting together a 41-463-3 receiving line on 61 targets.

Limited Wednesday Raymond was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to a shoulder injury.
Impact Raymond secured two of three targets for 20 yards in Sunday's win over the Cardinals, but he apparently sustained the shoulder injury at some point during the matchup. The severity of the issue isn't yet clear, but Tom Kennedy and KhaDarel Hodge could be called upon to play more snaps at receiver if Raymond is sidelined this weekend against Atlanta.
DECEMBER 22, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Two catches against Cardinals Raymond caught two of three targets for 20 yards during Sunday's 30-12 win over Arizona.
Impact Raymond saw just as much playing time as Amon-Ra St. Brown and Josh Reynolds, but he was the odd man out in terms of production. With St. Brown thriving underneath and Josh Reynolds more effective down the field, it wouldn't be a surprise if Raymond's production remains modest down the stretch. Accordingly, Raymond is not a recommended fantasy option in any format entering Week 16 against Atlanta, especially now that Jared Goff (COVID-19) could miss time.

Finds end zone in Denver Raymond caught four of five targets for 31 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-10 loss to the Broncos.
Impact He provided Detroit's lone highlight of the day, catching a seven-yard score in the second quarter. Raymond hadn't gotten into the end zone since Week 4 and hasn't reached 40 yards in a game since Week 7, giving him little fantasy appeal heading into a Week 15 clash with the Cardinals.

Two catches against Minnesota Raymond secured two of two targets for 33 yards during Sunday's 29-27 win over Minnesota.
Impact Raymond saw a couple of targets in the first half but wasn't heard from again after that. Meanwhile, Amon-Ra St. Brown paced the team with 10 receptions on 12 targets for 86 yards while Josh Reynolds operated as the top perimeter option. Perhaps Raymond can become more productive as a tertiary threat going forward, but thus far he hasn't done much as a receiver since Reynolds came to town.

Taking backseat to Reynolds Raymond caught three of four targets for 16 yards during Thursday's 16-14 loss to Chicago.
Impact Raymond again did little with the opportunities he saw. Meanwhile, Josh Reynolds -- who caught three passes for 70 yards and a score -- continues to rise to the top of the depth chart. Considering Raymond was hardly a fantasy option when he was the Lions' No. 1 receiver, his floor will probably get even lower if Reynolds continues on as Jared Goff's top option.

No catches in Cleveland Raymond failed to catch his lone target during Sunday's 13-10 loss to Cleveland.
Impact On a dreary day in Cleveland, Raymond wasn't able to get anything going with backup quarterback Tim Boyle, who was replacing Jared Goff (ribs) for at least one week. If Goff remains out in Week 12 against Chicago, Raymond won't be anywhere on the fantasy radar, though he is hardly anything more than an afterthought with Goff under center anyway.

Catches four passes Raymond caught four of six targets for 29 yards in Sunday's 16-16 tie with Pittsburgh.
Impact Raymond and the rest of the Lions' pass catchers struggled to get anything going Sunday with Jared Goff throwing for a dismal 114 yards. The wideout played 65 percent of Detroit's offensive snaps, marking his second-lowest percentage of the season. Raymond's six targets, however, were tied for the team high in the contest. The 27-year-old will look to bounce back when the Lions square off against the Browns in Week 11.

Lays goose egg Raymond was targeted once but he did not record a catch during Sunday's 44-6 loss to the Eagles.
Impact Coming off a 100-yard outing against the Rams, Raymond laid a goose egg against a previously beatable Eagles defense. However, tough coverage from cornerback Darius Slay certainly played a role, not to mention the fact that only nine of Jared Goff's 34 pass attempts were directed at wide receivers. Considering he entered the week averaging 5.6 targets per game, Raymond should see a heavier workload in Week 10 against Pittsburgh when Detroit returns from its Week 9 bye.

Stepping up Raymond is stepping up as a top receiving option in the absence of Tyrell Williams (concussion) and Quintez Cephus (collarbone), Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports....
Impact With Cephus likely done for the year and there being no word of a nearing return for Williams, only Amon-Ra St. Brown remains to challenge Raymond for looks amongst Lions wide receivers. Of course, tight end T.J. Hockenson and running back D'Andre Swift are still the focal points of the passing game, but Raymond has nonetheless totaled 15 targets in two games since Cephus went down while St. Brown saw seven. Given how often Detroit needs to throw the ball, it's possible this heightened usage could continue as long as Williams remains sidelined, which could lead to useful fantasy production given how Raymond has averaged over 11 yards per catch in four of the five games in which he handled more than two targets this year.
