Scores three times Allen completed 19 of 34 pass attempts for 210 yards, three touchdowns and one interception while running for 24 yards on three carries in the 31-14 win over Carolina on Sunday.

Impact Allen generally did well while playing through the foot tweak he suffered in Week 14, especially given the pressure applied by the Carolina pass rush. Perhaps Allen's box score wasn't particularly clean in this game, but the Carolina defense is often tough against the pass, so between that and the foot issue Allen deserves lenient grading. A Week 16 road game against the Patriots is one of the worst-case scenarios for a quarterback, and the pass blocking might be an ongoing concern, but at least a game like Sunday's serves as reminder that Allen can win even in difficult circumstances.

Cleared to face Panthers Allen (foot) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Panthers after practicing fully Friday.

Impact Coach Sean McDermott liked what he saw from Allen in practice this week, saying Allen's "able to execute the job description that goes along with the quarterback position," per Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN. Allen may be a bit more reluctant than usual to make plays with his legs after topping the 100-yard rushing mark last week, but his proficiency as a passer should keep Allen firmly in the QB1 mix, especially since he'll remain a power running option by the goal line despite his bothersome foot.

Impact Allen injured his toe in the second half of Sunday's overtime loss to Tampa Bay, but his expected return to full participation in practice bodes well for his chances of not only suiting up Sunday, but also entering the weekend without a designation. The Bills' final Week 15 injury report will be released later Friday and will reveal whether Allen avoids the questionable tag. Even in a losing effort, Allen made NFL history last week, when he became one of three players in league annals to throw for 300 yards, run for 100 and throw multiple touchdown passes in a game.

Impact The Bills are viewing Allen as day-to-day while he deals with a mild case of turf toe on his left foot, but the early expectation is that he'll be ready to go for Sunday's game against the Panthers. Ideally, Allen will upgrade to full participation in Friday's practice to put to rest any concern about his availability, but if not, he could carry a questionable designation into the weekend. Mitchell Trubisky is also taking some of the first-team reps in practice this week, staying prepared for a potential starting assignment if the Bills elect to hold Allen out Sunday.
