INJURIES

Held without a catch Whittington failed to secure his only target during Sunday's 31-28 loss to the Panthers.
Impact Sunday's game against Carolina marked the third time in the last five games that Whittington was held without a catch, a concerning trend made more troubling by a three-catch, 82-yard performance by Xavier Smith. Whittington actually played the least of the Rams' backup wide receiver corps, with both Smith and Konata Mumpfield logging 20 snaps to Whittington's 18. Tutu Atwell (hamstring) is trending towards a return for the Week 14 contest against the Cardinals after logging three full practices this week as well, which would push Whittington further down the depth chart.
4 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Ties season high for catches Whittington secured all three targets for 17 yards during Sunday's 34-7 victory against the Buccaneers.
Impact It was another monster game for Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, who combined for 19 targets and a 12-159-2 receiving line. This left little for the other two wideouts who took the field, as along with Whittington's three targets, Konata Mumpfield mustered just two targets of his own. Whittington's usage crept up again for the second consecutive week, with the second-year pro out on the field for 34 snaps on offense. Tutu Atwell (hamstring) and Xavier Smith (concussion) could both return for the Week 13 contest against the Panthers, however, which would reduce Whittington's already limited role even further.

Little impact in win Whittington secured his only target for nine yards and returned two kicks for 48 yards during Sunday's 21-19 victory against the Seahawks.
Impact The second-year pro saw the field often with Tutu Atwell (hamstring) still on IR and Xavier Smith (concussion) leaving the contest in the first half. The additional playing time didn't amount to anything significant on the stat sheet, although his lone catch was his first since Week 7. With the Buccaneers up next in Week 12, Whittington may be pressed into a bigger role if Smith is unable to clear the concussion protocol, as Atwell won't be available to return until the following week against the Panthers at the earliest. The offense still primarily runs through Puka Nacua and Davante Adams (16 targets out of 25 passing attempts) however, making it difficult to trust Whittington in fantasy lineups.

Full participant Thursday Whittington (back) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
Impact The kick returner and wide receiver was limited during Wednesday's session. Whittington played through the injury last Sunday against the 49ers, seeing seven offensive snaps and 14 special-teams snaps. In 2025, he has 12 catches for 121 yards as a receiver and 109 kickoff-return yards.
NOVEMBER 14 • ROTOWIRE
Limited Wednesday Whittington (back) was limited in Wednesday's practice, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Whittington played through the back issue last Sunday against the 49ers, but he played just seven offensive snaps and appears to have fallen behind both Xavier Smith and Konata Mumpfield on the depth chart behind Puka Nacua and Davante Adams (oblique).
NOVEMBER 13 • ROTOWIRE
Usage deteriorates again Whittington didn't record a target during Sunday's 42-26 victory against the 49ers.
Impact Whittington was on the field for a season-low seven snaps on offense, which may have been partially due to a back injury that held him out of practice for part of the week. Fellow backups Xavier Smith and Konata Mumpfield played nearly the same amount of time as starters Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. With Nacua and Adams still dominating the attention of Matthew Stafford with a combined 11-141-2 stat line, it's difficult to rely on any other receiver for the Rams. A game with massive ramifications for the NFC West is up next on the docket, as the Rams host the Seahawks in Week 11.
NOVEMBER 10 • ROTOWIRE
Active Sunday Whittington (back) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the 49ers.
Impact After missing practice Wednesday and Thursday, Whittington logged a limited session Friday before being listed as questionable for Sunday's contest. With his Week 10 availability confirmed, Whittington will continue to work behind the Rams' clear-cut top WRs, Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. In that role, Whittington has recorded a 12/121/0 receiving line on 17 targets in eight games, a pace that keeps him off the fantasy radar in most formats.
NOVEMBER 9 • ROTOWIRE
Questionable to face 49ers Whittington (back) will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Nate Adkins of The Athletic reports.
Impact Whittington is set to practice in a limited fashion Friday, which is a step in the right direction after he was unable to practice Wednesday or Thursday. Blake Corum may get a chance to return kickoffs if Whittington doesn't play Sunday, while Konata Mumpfield and Xavier Smith could see additional snaps at wide receiver.
NOVEMBER 7 • ROTOWIRE
Misses practice again Whittington (back) did not participate in practice for the second day in a row Thursday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Impact The kick returner and wide receiver will have one more chance to practice ahead of Sunday's matchup with the 49ers. Whittington has 12 catches for 121 yards and 109 kickoff return yards on the year. If he can't go Sunday, Blake Corum might be next in line to handle kickoff return duties.

49ers host Matthew Stafford and the Rams in a key NFC West clash

The Los Angeles Rams are set to face the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday
NOVEMBER 6 • Associated Press
Misses practice Wednesday Whittington (back) was a non-participant at practice Wednesday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Impact Whittington popped up on the injury report with an apparent back injury to open the week. The wide receiver failed to garner a target in the team's 34-10 win over the Saints in Week 9, potentially getting hurt during the game. He'll have two more chances to return to practice prior to Sunday's contest against the 49ers.

Uninvolved in victory Whittington failed to record a target during Sunday's 34-10 victory against the Saints.
Impact Even with Puka Nacua (chest) missing a portion of the contest with injury and Tutu Atwell (hamstring) on IR, Whittington found himself blanked on the stat sheet for the first time since Week 1. Matthew Stafford once again had a monster game, with four more touchdowns and 281 yards through the air, so the volume for the receiving corps is there. If Nacua misses any time with his rib injury, Whittington would be a primary beneficiary, although he has yet to eclipse 42 yards receiving and is still seeking his first touchdown on the season.
NOVEMBER 4 • ROTOWIRE
Makes pair of catches Whittington secured two of four targets for nine yards during Sunday's 35-7 victory against the Jaguars.
Impact The second-year pro actually led all Rams' wideouts in snaps played in the London contest, taking the field for 41 out of 70 snaps. Whittington wasn't able to do much with that usage, however, as Davante Adams, Terrance Ferguson and Konata Mumpfield were the targets of Matthew Stafford's five passing touchdowns on the day, with Adams garnering three by himself. Whittington hasn't hit the next level in terms of production through seven games, with a meager 12-121-0 stat line as the Rams enter their bye week. He'll look to get back on track in Week 9 in a home contest against the Saints.

Season-high three catches Whittington secured three of four targets for 33 yards during Sunday's 17-3 victory against the Ravens.
Impact In the wake of Puka Nacua (ankle) missing a considerable portion of the contest due to an ankle sprain, it was the second-year pro Whittington who saw the biggest uptick in play time, leading all Rams' wide receivers with 49 snaps on offense. The expanded stint on the field only led to a small uptick in Whittington's stat line, although he did set season-highs in catches and targets. If Nacua were to miss any time with his injury, it appears as though Whittington is most likely to step in alongside Davante Adams and assume a larger role, especially if Tutu Atwell (hamstring) isn't 100 percent next week against the Jaguars.

Makes back-to-back catches Whittington secured two of three targets for 33 yards during Thursday's 26-23 overtime loss to the 49ers.
Impact The second-year wideout chained together catches of 22 and 11 yards in the second quarter, which lead to a Kyren Williams 14-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford. Whittington would see one final target head his way at the start of the second half before taking a back seat to Tutu Atwell, who made two huge catches of 34 and 38 yards in the third quarter and overtime, respectively. Atwell also easily outpaced Whittington in snap count (45 to 27). Atwell's game-breaking speed has been on display the last two weeks, and that additional element may have been a factor in his uptick in touches. Whittington will remain difficult to trust from a fantasy perspective, although a porous Baltimore defense that has given up the most points in the league is up next in Week 6.

Sees boost in playing time Whittington secured his only target for seven yards and returned two kicks for 49 yards during Sunday's 27-20 victory against the Colts.
Impact There was a noticeable jump in snap counts for the second-year wideout, as Whittington was on the field for 60 snaps on offense, just two less than Puka Nacua and one less than Davante Adams. Despite the boost in usage, it didn't translate to fantasy success with just a single catch on the day. Tutu Atwell, Whittington's primary competition on the depth chart, burned through blown coverage for an game-winning 88-yard touchdown, but was also on the field for just 21 snaps on offense. A short week before a Thursday Night Football showdown against a depleted 49ers roster is up next in Week 5, and the snap counts of Whittington and Atwell will be telling as to whether the latter has reclaimed some ground on the No. 3 wideout role for the Rams.
SEPTEMBER 29 • ROTOWIRE
Does little with four touches Whittington secured two of three targets for seven yards and rushed twice for seven yards during Sunday's 33-26 loss to the Eagles.
Impact Once again operating as the tertiary option at wideout, Whittington found little room to run when presented with opportunities, and was unable to replicate the huge 40-yard catch from last week against the Titans. On the field for exactly half of the Rams' snaps on offense, Whittington seems to have secured his hold on the No. 3 wideout role for the Rams, a role that is unlikely to hold much fantasy appeal given the dominance Puka Nacua and Davante Adams have in target share; 23 of Matthew Stafford's 33 pass attempts were targeted to the duo.
