Signing with Bills
McKissic is slated to sign a two-year deal with the Bills, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact
According to Schefter, McKissic's deal with the Bills is for $7 million, with the potential for another $1 million in incentives. The 28-year-old carried the ball 48 times for 212 yards and two TDs in 2021, adding 43 catches for 397 yards and a pair of receiving scores in 11 games for Washington. He'll provide Buffalo with an adept pass catcher out of the backfield in 2022, a context that puts McKissic on the PPR radar while working behind the team's top back, Devin Singletary. The Bills also have Zack Moss under contract for the next two seasons.

Not playing Week 18
McKissic (concussion) wasn't among the players added to Washington's roster Saturday ahead of Sunday's season finale against the Giants.
Impact
Considering Washington never designated McKissic to return from injured reserve following his move off the active roster Dec. 21, the decision not to activate him for Week 18 hardly comes as a surprise. Washington will have Antonio Gibson, Jaret Patterson and Jonathan Williams as its available running backs for the finale.

Out three more games
Washington placed McKissic (concussion) on injured reserve Tuesday.
Impact
McKissic was already set to miss a third consecutive game Tuesday in Philadelphia, but his move to IR ensures that he'll also remain out Week 16 in Dallas and for the Week 17 rematch with the Eagles in Washington. The Football Team's decision to shut McKissic down through Week 17 doesn't come as a major surprise, as he was unable to practice in any fashion this week. With McKissic deactivated, lead back Antonio Gibson should be in line to pick up more passing-down work, while Jaret Patterson and Jonathan Williams handle small depth roles behind him.

Ruled out Tuesday
McKissic (concussion) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Eagles.
Impact
McKissic was unable to return to practice this week, and he'll be held out for a third straight game due to a concussion. Jaret Patterson should continue to see a slight uptick in playing time behind Antonio Gibson in Week 15.

DNP on Saturday
McKissic (concussion) didn't practice Saturday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Impact
McKissic has yet to practice this week and has logged very little on-field work since suffering a concussion and neck injury during Week 12 action against the Seahawks. Washington's Week 15 game versus the Eagles has been pushed back from Sunday to Tuesday due to COVID-19 concerns within the Football Team, giving him a bit more time to get through the league's five phases of the protocol for head injuries. Having said that, McKissic appears to be trending toward a third straight absence, which again would open the door for No. 1 running back Antonio Gibson to pick up a three-down role.

Washington-Eagles moved to Tuesday
McKissic (concussion) and Washington will no longer play the Eagles on Sunday, after the NFL officially rescheduled the matchup between the two teams for Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET.
Impact
Due to ongoing COVID-19-related issues within Washington's organization, the NFL is hopeful that by delaying the game two days, the Football Team will restore enough players from the reserve/COVID-19 list to alleviate depth concerns on the roster. Though McKissic isn't one of the several Washington players who has tested positive for the virus, he could benefit from the two-day delay, given that he has yet to clear the five-step concussion protocol. Even so, considering McKissic hadn't resumed practicing as of Friday, the pass-catching specialist is most likely trending toward missing his third consecutive contest, which would pave the way for Antonio Gibson to handle a three-down workhorse role out of the backfield.

Idle for another practice
McKissic (concussion) didn't participate in Thursday's practice, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
McKissic looked to be advancing through the concussion protocol last week after he managed limited practices Thursday and Friday before being ruled out in advance of Washington's 27-20 loss to Dallas, but the running back appears to have since suffered a setback. He's now been listed as a non-participant in two straight practices, which suggests his absence from Wednesday's session wasn't merely a maintenance day. Even if he gets back on the field as a limited participant Friday, McKissic will still need to get the green light to take contact in addition to gaining clearance from an independent neurologist in order to play Sunday in Philadelphia. Given the multiple obstacles in his way, McKissic appears likely to sit out a third consecutive game.

Not practicing
McKissic (concussion) didn't practice Wednesday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
It's unclear if this is indicative of a setback or just caution, with McKissic held out after logging limited practices last Thursday and Friday. He missed the past two games, giving Antonio Gibson more work on passing downs, while Wendell Smallwood (Week 13) and Jonathan Williams (Week 14) also got a few looks. It's unclear if McKissic will be back for Sunday's game in Philadelphia.

Inactive for second straight week
McKissic (concussion) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Impact
McKissic made enough progress through the NFL's five-step concussion protocol this week to return to practice as a limited participant Thursday and Friday, but he doesn't appear to have been deemed ready for full contact or cleared by an independent neurologist. As such, he'll remain out for a second straight game, which should give top back Antonio Gibson a clear path to a three-down role once again. In addition to carrying 23 times for 88 yards, Gibson drew six targets -- one short of his season-high total -- and caught five passes for 23 yards and a touchdown in last week's win over the Raiders.

ROTOWIRE
Unlikely to play Week 14
McKissic (concussion) remains listed as questionable but is considered unlikely to play in Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact
After sitting out the Week 13 win over the Raiders, McKissic returned to practice this week as a limited participant Thursday and Friday, but he doesn't look like he's received clearance from an independent neurologist, the final step in the running back exiting the concussion protocol. As a result, McKissic appears likely to miss his second consecutive game, potentially paving the way for Antonio Gibson to take on an expanded role as a pass catcher in addition to his normal role as Washington's lead option on the ground. Final word on McKissic's status will come when Washington reveals its inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff.

Questionable, still in protocol
McKissic (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Impact
McKissic was a limited practice participant Friday and remains in the concussion protocol. He's still hoping to gain clearance before Sunday, after Antonio Gibson and Wendell Smallwood split McKissic's usual snaps in the win over Las Vegas last week.

Gets in limited practice
McKissic (concussion) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Matthew Paras of The Washington Times reports.
Impact
Since being diagnosed with a concussion following Washington's Week 12 win over the Seahawks, McKissic was listed as a non-participant in four consecutive practices and sat out a Week 13 win over Las Vegas along the way. His ability to turn in a limited practice Thursday thus marks the first step forward for McKissic as he works his way through the NFL's five-step concussion protocol. According to Ben Standig of The Athletic, McKissic was spotted taking part in position drills during the open portion of Thursday's session, but he'll need to still gain clearance for full-contact work and get the green light from an independent neurologist in order to suit up Sunday against the Cowboys.
