Impact Minshew went 1-7 as a starter in his second NFL season, though his passing stats -- 66.1 completion percentage, 6.9 YPA, 16:5 TD:INT -- show a degree of competence that wasn't matched by fellow Jaguars quarterbacks Mike Glennon and Jake Luton. The team is now expected to draft Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence, potentially leaving Minshew to compete with Luton for the backup job. The Jaguars figure to explore trade opportunities this offseason, so it's possible the 2019 sixth-round pick ends up on a new team for his third NFL campaign.

Minshew has outproduced Glennon from a statistic standpoint this season -- 66.1 percent completion rate, 6.9 yards per attempt, 16:5 TD:INT -- but the second-year signal-caller has put up a good chunk of his production in garbage time and clearly isn't viewed as the Jaguars' long-term answer at quarterback. Glennon is set to become a free agent this offseason and may not be retained, but Minshew won't have a clear path to the starting role in 2021 with Jacksonville likely to select a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft.

Impact Minshew's relatively solid surface numbers against the Ravens last week (75.9 completion percentage, two touchdowns to one turnover) masked what was a quietly toothless Jaguars offense albeit against a difficult matchup. It's not entirely surprising to see the team turn to Glennon as the starter after both quarterbacks split first-team reps throughout the week, but considering the veteran's track record as as a below-average starter at the professional level, it's hard to imagine much will change from an offensive perspective in another difficult matchup on tap for Week 16.

Impact Minshew took back the starting role after shining in relief of Glennon in the Week 14 loss to the Titans, but the former struggled mightily to move the offense for most of the day in last weekend's blowout loss to the Ravens. Though Minshew only turned the ball over once and finished with a 75.9 percent completion rate, 7.8 YPA and two touchdown passes, most of his production came in the second half during garbage time. As a result, Minshew will be forced to compete for his job once again, but no matter who wins the battle, fantasy managers likely will want to avoid the Jacksonville quarterback situation Week 16.
