INJURIES

Limited Wednesday Engram (ankle) was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Impact During the media-access portion of the practice, Engram was spotted working out on the side with trainers, according to Dan Duggan of The Athletic. Engram evidently increased his activity behind the scenes, and the Giants appear optimistic about his chances of suiting up Sunday against the Cowboys. The tight end will still likely need to upgrade to full participation in practice by Friday to avoid taking a designation into the Week 17 contest.

Set to practice Engram (ankle) is slated to practice in some capacity Wednesday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Head coach Joe Judge has expressed a degree of optimism that Engram will be able to play Sunday against the Cowboys, a notion supported by the tight end's presence of the practice field Wednesday. Engram suffered the ankle injury late in last week's loss to the Ravens, finishing the day with 70 yards from scrimmage on eight touches.

Looking iffy for Week 17 Coach Joe Judge said Monday that he's "optimistic" about the health of Engram (ankle), but he noted that the tight end still has to meet with team doctors, Ralph Vacchiano of Sport...
Impact Engram injured his left ankle in the fourth quarter of last Sunday's 27-13 loss to Baltimore, hauling in seven of 10 targets for 65 yards before leaving the field. The 26-year-old is just one game away from logging the first full season of his career, but it looks like he can't be considered a lock to suit up for Sunday's upcoming must-win game against the Cowboys. Kaden Smith will work as the Giants' top tight end if Engram can't go.

Hurt late in loss Engram (ankle) secured seven of 10 targets for 65 yards during Sunday's 27-13 loss to Baltimore. He went down holding his left ankle late in the fourth quarter, per Madelyn Burke o...
Impact Engram attracted double-digit targets for the fourth time this season, tying his second-greatest receiving output of the campaign with his 65-yard Week 16 performance. He and Sterling Shepard were the clear top targets, and there's reason to believe that trend will continue given Engram's average of 7.6 targets per game over his past five outings. The first-time Pro Bowl tight end did seemingly hurt his ankle in the late stages of Sunday's loss, and that will be a situation to monitor as the Giants progress toward their regular-season finale against the Cowboys.

QB Daniel Jones questionable, could start Sunday for Giants

The New York Giants might be closer to getting back starting quarterback Daniel Jones
DECEMBER 25, 2020 • Associated Press
Puts in full practice Engram (calf) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Impact The calf issue limited Engram's participation in Wednesday's practice and throughout the Giants' sessions last week, but his return to full activity Thursday clears the way for the tight end to play Sunday in Baltimore. Engram's 95 targets on the season are good for third among all tight ends this season, but a poor 6.0 yards per target average has diminished some of the value of all those looks he's received.

Limited Wednesday Engram was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice with a calf injury, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Impact The same injury limited him in practice last week, but he suited up for the Giants' loss to the Browns without issue. As such, there's no real reason to worry about Engram's status for Week 16 as long as he can continue logging at least limited participation in practices.

Plays 43 snaps Engram caught four of seven targets for 46 yards Sunday against the Browns.
Impact He was nursing a calf injury heading into the game, but it didn't seem to affect his workload. He'll remain involved in the offense, but there's not a ton to go around given the state of quarterback play.

Playing Sunday, as expected Engram (calf) is listed as active Sunday versus the Browns, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Impact As was expected, Engram will be out there after injuring his knee at Friday's practice, which led to a questionable designation for Week 15. Kaden Smith (knee) also is available for when the Giants utilize two-TE sets, but Engram is the pass catcher of the position group. While he has just three games of more than 60 yards this season, Engram draws a Cleveland defense that has conceded the fifth-most touchdowns (nine) to tight ends this season.

Likely playing Sunday night Engram (calf) is expected to play Sunday against the Browns, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Impact The Giants needed a bit of good news after it was reported earlier in the day Daniel Jones (hamstring/ankle) was unlikely to start the marquee matchup Sunday night against the Browns. Engram popped up on the injury report late in the week with a calf injury, but the 26-year-old tight end certainly seems to be trending in the right direction to play. Engram is on pace to set career highs in receptions and receiving yards despite an inefficient season overall.
DECEMBER 19, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Late addition to injury report Engram was added to the Giants' injury report Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Cleveland with a calf injury, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports...
Impact The timing suggests Engram got hurt during practice Thursday or Friday, leaving his availability in question for Sunday's contest. Giants quarterback Daniel Jones (hamstring/ankle) and backup tight end Kaden Smith (knee) also are listed as questionable. There are a lot of variables to sort out, and a late kickoff (8:20 p.m. ET) won't make things any easier on Engram's fantasy managers.
