INJURIES

Catches TD after Taylor injury Jackson rushed 13 times for 55 yards and caught his only target for a one-yard touchdown in Saturday's 39-36 overtime loss to the Vikings. He also lost a fumble.
Impact Jackson watched Zack Moss take over for the remainder of the opening drive after Jonathan Taylor (ankle) got injured on his first touch. After Moss was stuffed by the goal line, Jackson checked in to start the team's next possession and wound up capping it with a one-yard touchdown catch. Jackson finished the game with 13 carries to Moss's 24, and they would likely remain in a timeshare against the Chargers in Week 16 if Taylor fails to recover from his injury by then.

Just two carries in loss Jackson had two carries for six yards in Sunday's loss at Dallas.
Impact Jackson played on eight of the offense's 72 snaps. He's the clear backup to Jonathan Taylor after the trade of Nyheim Hines to Buffalo, but Taylor is playing nearly every down under new head coach Jeff Saturday.
DECEMBER 6, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
No touches in loss Jackson failed to record a single rush or target in Monday's 24-17 loss to the Steelers.
Impact Jackson played just four of the Colts' 64 offensive snaps Monday. Meanwhile, Jonathan Taylor handled the vast majority of work out of the backfield, playing all but five offensive snaps in the contest. Taylor rushed 20 times for 86 yards and a touchdown, adding three catches for 12 yards. Barring an injury to Taylor, Jackson should operate as a change-of-pace back going forward. However, the 23-year-old will be extremely difficult to trust for fantasy purposes with such limited opportunities. Fantasy managers should view Jackson as nothing more than a handcuff to Taylor as the Colts are set to visit the Cowboys in Week 13.

Four catches in loss to Philly Jackson rushed once for seven yards and caught all four of his targets for three yards in Sunday's 17-16 loss to the Eagles.
Impact A healthy Jonathan Taylor got the vast majority of the Colts' rushing attempts, racking up 84 yards on 22 carries. Matt Ryan tried to get Jackson involved as a pass catcher out of the backfield, but the Eagles' sure tackling prevented Jackson from contributing much in that regard. The 23-year-old running back has taken on the change-of-pace role vacated by the traded Nyheim Hines, though the jury is still out on whether Jackson can replicate Hines' effectiveness as a receiver.

Returning to action in Week 11 Jackson (knee) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game against the Eagles.
Impact Even though Jackson is set to put an end to a two-game absence due to a knee injury, he'll be playing second fiddle, at best, in a Colts backfield dominated by a now healthy Jonathan Taylor. Jackson has shown prowess as a pass catcher, though, having hauled in 16 of 17 passes for 121 yards this season, so he may slide into the role previously held by Nyheim Hines, who was dealt to the Bills at the trade deadline.

Limited in return to practice Jackson (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Impact When he was last on the field for the Colts' Week 9 loss to the Patriots, Jackson handled the lead role out of the backfield but mustered only 36 total yards on 13 touches. He also injured his knee during that contest and was forced to sit out the Colts' win over the Raiders, when top back Jonathan Taylor returned from a one-game absence and delivered one of his best performances of the season. Though Jackson's return to practice gives him a shot at being available this weekend against the Eagles, Taylor has escaped last week's game free of any setbacks to his ankle and looks poised to retain a high-volume role moving forward. With that in mind, Jackson likely won't be in store for anything more than a few touches if he's deemed ready to play this Sunday.
NOVEMBER 17, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Not practicing Jackson (knee) didn't practice Wednesday.
Impact Jackson missed the Colts' 25-20 win over Las Vegas last Sunday, while Jonathan Taylor returned from an ankle injury to play 94 percent of the snaps while taking 22 carries for 147 yards and a touchdown. Taylor will lead the backfield again this Sunday against Philadelphia, with Zack Moss and Jordan Wilkins providing depth if Jackson isn't ready to suit up.
NOVEMBER 16, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Ruled out for Week 10 Jackson (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Raiders.
Impact With Jonathan Taylor (ankle) having practiced fully Thursday, the Colts are in line to have their top back available this weekend, though with Jackson out, the team's Week 10 backup options are newcomer Zack Moss as well as current practice squad members Jordan Wilkins and Jake Funk.
NOVEMBER 11, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Misses second straight practice Jackson (knee) didn't participate in Thursday's practice.
Impact After serving as the Colts' lead back in last week's loss to the Patriots while Jonathan Taylor (ankle) missed his third game of the season, Jackson now appears to be the worst health among the two backs. Taylor returned to practice Wednesday as a limited participant before upgrading to full activity Thursday, while Jackson didn't log any reps for the second day in a row. Jackson could still put himself in position to play Sunday in Las Vegas if he manages some practice activity Friday, but with Taylor poised to rejoin the lineup this weekend, Jackson would likely be in store only for a change-of-pace role.
NOVEMBER 10, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Not practicing to start week Jackson was held out of practice Wednesday with a knee injury.
Impact Meanwhile, Jonathan Taylor (ankle) returned to practice as a limited participant after missing a 26-3 loss to the Patriots on Sunday. Jackson was the lead back in that game but finished with only 36 yards on 13 touches in an ugly outing for the Indianapolis offense in what turned out to be Frank Reich's final game as head coach. It's possible Jackson gets another start Sunday in Las Vegas, but only if he makes progress later in the week while Taylor heads the other direction.
NOVEMBER 9, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Only 36 yards on 13 touches Jackson rushed the ball 11 times for 23 yards in Sunday's 26-3 loss to the Patriots. He added two receptions on three targets for 13 yards.
Impact Jackson served as the Colts' primary running back with Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and Zack Moss (coach's decision) both inactive. Despite dominating touches out of the backfield, he managed very little production as the team's offense was stalled for the entire game. It's unclear how long Taylor may be sidelined, but even if he misses a Week 10 matchup against the Raiders, it's difficult to trust Jackson to produce given the poor state of the Colts offense.

In line to fill in for Taylor With Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and newcomer Zack Moss inactive, per JJ Stankevitz of the Colts' official site, Jackson is line for an expanded role Sunday against the Patriots.
Impact The Colts' Week 9 backfield will also include practice squad elevations Phillip Lindsay and Jordan Wilkins, but in Taylor's absence, Jackson should lead the team's ground game Sunday. In that context, Jackson qualifies as a fantasy lineup option for those needing a replacement for Taylor or who are looking for some added short-term running back depth with six NFL teams currently on bye.

Slated for expanded role Sunday Jackson is expected to start and take on an expanded role Sunday against the Patriots with Jonathan Taylor (ankle) ruled out for the contest, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapo...
Impact The report notes that the Colts are likely to elevate Phillip Lindsay from their practice squad ahead of the contest, with newcomer Zack Moss' role this weekend to be determined. Also currently on the team's practice squad are D'Vonte Price and Jordan Wilkins. With that in mind, Jackson profiles as a fantasy lineup option for those looking to find a replacement for Taylor or seeking some Week 9 running back depth with six NFL teams on bye.

Stagnant offense forces Colts to make midseason changes

Coach Frank Reich can't explain it

Just one carry in loss Jackson lost four yards on his lone carry in Sunday's loss to Washington.
Impact Jackson played just two snaps on offense as he has a limited reserve role with both Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines healthy.

Moves back to minimal role Jackson had two carries for three yards in Sunday's loss at Tennessee.
Impact Jackson played just five snaps on offense as he's moved back to a deep reserve role with both Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and Nyheim Hines (concussion) returning from injury. Jackson had 29 total touches for 222 scrimmage yards and a touchdown in two games with Taylor out, so he could still have fantasy value if pressed into a larger role. However, he may get few touches on offense with both Taylor and Hines healthy.

Colts stalled offense gets jump start with no-huddle

For five weeks, the Indianapolis Colts kept looking for a way to get their stagnant offense moving
OCTOBER 20, 2022 • Associated Press
Full participant Wednesday Jackson (quadriceps) was a full participant during Wednesday's practice.
Impact Jackson was forced out of Indianapolis' Week 6 win over the Jaguars due to a quadriceps injury, but he appears to have avoided a major issue and should be good to go for a Week 7 matchup with the Titans. However, after racking up 39 total touches for 222 yards and a touchdown over his last two appearances, Jackson may drop to third in the backfield pecking order, as Jonathan Taylor (ankle) logged another limited practice and Nyheim Hines (concussion) fully participated Wednesday. Regardless, fantasy managers are still encouraged to monitor the Colts' running-back room this week to see if Taylor and Hines approach Sunday's contest without designations.
