Limited by hamstring Wednesday Samuel was a limited participant at Wednesday's walk-through practice due to a hamstring injury, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Previously, Samuel sat out Week 8 with a balky hamstring, so there's some cause for concern now that he's made another appearance on the practice report. With the benefit of a Week 9 bye, Samuel has been able to play his typical role in the 49ers offense the last two games, recording nine catches (on 15 targets) for 81 yards and taking seven carries for 64 yards and a touchdown. With two sessions to go during Week 12 prep, Samuel's status will be monitored to get a sense of his availability Sunday versus the Saints.

Totals 94 yards, scores Samuel recorded seven receptions on nine targets for 57 yards in Monday's 38-10 win over the Cardinals. He added three rushes for 37 yards and a touchdown.

Impact Samuel led the 49ers in targets and tied with Christian McCaffrey for the lead in receptions. His longest catch of the day went for 19 yards, but he was otherwise limited to short areas of the field. However, he did the majority of his damage on a 39-yard run off the left end to reach the end zone. That marked Samuel's first touchdown since Week 5 and only his fourth total score of the season. He has also surpassed 100 total yards in a game only once for the campaign.

The dual threat wasn't visibly limited, exhibiting his signature explosiveness on a couple of hard runs. The four carries and six targets are in line with Samuel's season averages, so concerns over the return of Elijah Mitchell (knee) and the addition of Christian McCaffrey cutting into his usage were put to rest. Samuel will look to follow up this down game with a strong performance against a vulnerable Arizona defense next Monday.
