INJURIES

Suffers knee injury Sunday Uzomah was forced out of Sunday's AFC Championship Game against Kansas City after suffering a left knee injury, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports.
Impact Prior to his first-quarter exit from the contest, Uzomah -- who was carted to the locker room -- did not catch either of his two targets. In his absence, Drew Sample and Mitchell Wilcox are next up for the Bengals' tight end snaps.

Another strong performance Uzomah recorded seven receptions on eight targets for 71 yards in Saturday's 19-16 divisional-round win over the Titans.
Impact Uzomah tied for the team lead in receptions and finished third in receiving yards. While his 32-yard reception before halftime was meaningless in terms of the final outcome of the game, Uzomah regularly served as a checkdown option for Joe Burrow to keep the offense moving efficiently in between explosive gains. Despite tallying only 39 catches across 16 games in the regular season, Uzomah has combined to record 13 receptions for 135 yards in two postseason contests.

Bills rout Pats, Bengals top Raiders: NFL wild-card top plays
Strong playoff effort Uzomah caught six passes for 64 yards and one touchdown on six targets against Las Vegas on Saturday.
Impact Uzomah came through with big fantasy production even against a Raiders defense with an imposing edge rush, proving he can post numbers even when he might otherwise seem at risk of an increased blocking assignment. Uzomah is a big, athletic player in one of the league's most productive passing games, so he should continue to have games like this on occasion, particularly when one of Ja'Marr Chase or Tee Higgins sees a lag in his production. Higgins was unusually quiet in this one (one 10-yard catch on four targets), affording more room for Uzomah to draw targets.

Draft picks key Bengals' resurgence, return to playoffs

Sits out Week 18 Uzomah (knee/hip) didn't record a single snap in Sunday's 21-16 loss to the Browns.
Impact Listed as questionable heading into the Week 18 matchup, Uzomah avoided the inactive list but ultimately didn't sit out. The pair of injuries likely weren't at the root of his absence; instead, the Bengals were likely just holding their top tight end as a precautionary measure in advance of the postseason, as was the case for several other key players on offense. Uzomah, who finished the regular season with 49 catches for 493 yards and five touchdowns, should be ready to reclaim a full-time role on offense in Saturday's wild-card matchup with the Raiders.
JANUARY 12, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Active, may have limited role Uzomah (knee/hip) is active for Sunday's game against the Browns, though it's unclear if he'll handle a normal workload in the contest, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports.
Impact Though he was listed as questionable heading into the day and avoided the inactive list, Uzomah shouldn't be counted on to handle the 70-plus percent snap share that has typically been the norm for him this season. In addition to not practicing this week in any fashion due to the pair of injuries, the Bengals have little at stake Sunday in terms of playoff positioning. With top quarterback Joe Burrow (knee) also sitting out and top running back Joe Mixon (illness) on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the Bengals' usually high-powered offense won't be operating at peak efficiency with Brandon Allen stepping in as the starting quarterback. If Uzomah is limited for the regular-season finale or is only available as an emergency backup, Drew Sample and Mitchell Wilcox would see most of the work at tight end.

Questionable for Week 18 Uzomah (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Uzomah was held out of practice for a third consecutive day Friday as he continues to deal with a knee injury, but he has a chance to suit up in Sunday's regular-season finale. The Bengals have clinched a playoff spot and will likely rest some starters in Week 18, so Uzomah could be kept off the field if the team doesn't feel as though he's 100 percent healthy. If the 28-year-old is unavailable, Drew Sample and Mitchell Wilcox should see additional playing time.
JANUARY 7, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Non-participant Thursday Uzomah (knee/hip) didn't participate in Thursday's practice session, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Impact Uzomah was on the field for 90 percent of the Bengals' offensive snaps in Sunday's win over Kansas City but has been forced to miss the first two days of practice ahead of Week 18. He'll likely need to return to the practice field Friday if he hopes to suit up Sunday against the Browns. However, the 28-year-old could be limited or held out as a precaution in Week 18 since the Bengals have already clinched a playoff spot.
JANUARY 6, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Bothered by knee Uzomah (knee/hip) didn't practice Wednesday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Impact It's seemingly a new issue, though Uzomah played 90 percent of snaps in Sunday's 34-31 win over Kansas City. He may handle a smaller workload this week even if the knee and hip injuries turn out to be insignificant, as it's already known that the Bengals plan to rest Joe Burrow and start Brandon Allen at QB instead.
JANUARY 5, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Four catches in win Uzomah had four catches for 32 yards on six targets in Sunday's win over the Chiefs.
Impact Uzomah caught three of those passes while the Bengals were on the two-minute drill just before halftime, helping lead them to a field goal. Uzomah played 90 percent of the offensive snaps against the Chiefs - that percentage might be lower in Week 18, depending on how much the Bengals choose to use their starters.

Busy in Week 16 Uzomah had five catches for 36 yards on seven targets in the Bengals' Week 16 win over the Ravens.
Impact Though he didn't score, he was targeted four times inside the Ravens' 20 and once inside the 5-yard line. Uzomah was the receiver when the Ravens' Anthony Averett got hurt making a tackle. Uzomah could be in line for a similar output this week against the Chiefs - they've given up 79 catches for 849 yards against opposing tight ends this year, albeit for only six touchdowns.

Depleted Ravens face Bengals with playoff hopes on the line

Depleted by injuries and COVID-19 the Baltimore Ravens will try to rebound from three straight close losses and keep their playoff hopes intact
DECEMBER 22, 2021 • Associated Press
Quiet in Week 15 win Uzomah had three catches on four targets for 18 yards in Sunday's win over the Broncos.
Impact It was hard for Uzomah to get any sort of volume with the Bengals limited to just 22 passes all day. However, Uzomah had a big day (3-91-2) against the Ravens, next week's opponent, when they previously met.
DECEMBER 21, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Four receptions in loss Uzomah caught four of six targets for 56 yards during Sunday's 26-23 loss to the 49ers.
Impact Uzomah had his best outing since his 91-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Ravens in Week 7. In an offense with several talented pass catchers and a solid rushing attack, Uzomah has found difficulties providing constant fantasy value, but the upside is certainly there. With four games remaining, the 28-year-old tight end needs just six more receptions and 32 more yards to break the career highs he set in 2018.
