Breaks out in primetime win
Uzomah secured five of six targets for 95 yards and two touchdowns in the Bengals' 24-21 win over the Jaguars on Thursday night.
Impact
The veteran tight end surprisingly took on a front-line role in the air attack on the night, delivering with 22- and 31-yard touchdown grabs to spearhead the Bengals' big second-half comeback. Uzomah also notched a critical 25-yard grab in Cincinnati's final drive, with his catch taking the ball down to the Jaguars' 21-yard line and laying the groundwork for Evan McPherson's game-winning 35-yard field goal. Uzomah had only four receptions for 39 yards on five targets coming into Thursday, however, so it remains to be seen whether he can come anywhere close to replicating Thursday's production in a Week 5 home showdown against the Packers a week from Sunday.

Catchless in win
Uzomah failed to record a catch in Sunday's 24-10 win against the Steelers.
Impact
Uzomah was targeted just once in the contest. While the veteran tight end played on a healthy 70 percent of Cincinnati's offensive snaps, he continues to be an afterthought on a team flush with talented pass catchers. Uzomah can be safely ignored for fantasy purposes going forward unless his involvement in the Bengals' offense drastically changes. Uzomah will look to turn things around Thursday in a Week 4 matchup against the Jaguars.

Quiet in loss
Uzomah secured both of his targets for four yards in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Bears.
Impact
Uzomah played 73 percent of the Bengals' offensive snaps in Week 2, but the tight end has not been a big part of the game plan so far this season. The 6-foot-6, 260-pounder is operating as the team's No. 1 tight end, as his teammate Drew Sample only played 38 percent of Cincinnati's offensive snaps without being targeted, but both have mainly been used as blockers. Uzomah will be hard to trust in fantasy lineups this season given a crowded group of pass catchers on the field for the Bengals including Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd and Ja'Marr Chase.

Huge catch in overtime
Uzomah had just two catches for 35 yards in Sunday's win over the Vikings, but one of those was on fourth down in overtime, a grab that put the Bengals in position to kick a game-w...
Impact
Uzomah had just two targets on 51 snaps, but teammate Drew Sample had zero targets on 35 offensive snaps. With three strong wide receivers at Joe Burrow's disposal and Joe Mixon also involved in the passing game, there's little room for the tight ends to get much action.

Atop Bengals' depth chart
Uzomah is listed ahead of Drew Sample at tight end on the Bengals' depth chart.
Impact
Uzomah hasn't had any setbacks in camp as he has been recovering from his torn Achilles' tendon. He's more of a pass catcher than Sample, though his target share still won't likely be all that high. Moreover, the Bengals run an "11" formation more often than most teams, meaning there won't be too many chances for both Uzomah and Sample to see the field at the same time.

Cleared from Achilles tear
Uzomah (Achilles) said during a recent appearance on the "London Is Blue Podcast" that he's been medically cleared, Adi Joseph of CBS Sports reports.
Impact
Uzomah apparently made a quick recovery from the Achilles tear he suffered Week 2, declaring himself healthy just seven months later. The Bengals may still opt to ease him into practices this spring and summer, but the tight end should be ready to challenge Drew Sample for playing time. Of course, the Bengals could add a rookie to their tight end mix during the 2021 NFL Draft, potentially giving Sample and Uzomah some tougher competition.

Resumes running
Uzomah (Achilles) posted a video Wednesday on his personal Twitter account featuring him running on a treadmill.
Impact
Uzomah wasn't sporting a brace while he ran on the treadmill, an encouraging sign in his recovery from the season-ending Achilles surgery he required in late September. The tight end likely will remain limited or sidelined entirely for OTAs in the spring, but he could have a shot at gaining full clearance for the start of training camp. He'll be entering the final season of a three-year, $18 million deal in 2021, but even if healthy Uzomah may not be assured a starting role. Second-year player Drew Sample showed some promise as a blocker and pass catcher (40 receptions for 349 yards and a touchdown) after Uzomah went down with the injury, and the Bengals still could bring in additional competition at the position through the draft or free agency this offseason.

Undergoes surgery
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said Wednesday that Uzomah underwent surgery to address his season-ending Achilles injury, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Uzomah tore his right Achilles' tendon in the Week 2 loss to the Browns, spoiling what had been a solid outing up to that point (four catches for 42 yards and a touchdown). With Uzomah now turning his focus to rehabbing his leg and getting healthy for 2020, the Bengals will rely on Drew Sample to step in as their new starting tight end. Cethan Carter and Mason Schreck will handle depth roles behind Sample.
