INJURIES

Kyler Gordon - Considered questionable Gordon (groin) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Vikings.
Impact Gordon landed on the injury report Thursday as a limited participant due to a groin injury and remained limited Friday. However, he'll still have a chance to suit up Sunday. Jaylon Jones (concussion) has already been ruled out, so Chicago may be without two of its top cornerbacks for the regular-season finale.

Jaylon Jones - Ruled out with concussion Jones has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Vikings due to a concussion.
Impact Jones presumably suffered a concussion during the Bears' blowout loss to Detroit in Week 17 and didn't practice at all during Week 18 prep, so it's not surprising to see him ruled out. Kyler Gordon (groin) is questionable, so Chicago may be without two of its top cornerbacks for the regular-season finale against Minnesota.

Ja'Tyre Carter - Returns to practice Carter (back) was a full participant in practice Wednesday.
Impact Carter was unable to practice last week, and he ultimately missed the team's loss to the Lions on Sunday. However, his return to practice suggests he should be ready to play Week 18 against the Vikings.
JANUARY 4 • ROTOWIRE
Dante Pettis - Back at practice Wednesday Pettis (head) was a full participant at practice Wednesday.
Impact Pettis briefly checked into a hospital following Sunday's loss to the Lions with blurred vision, but he was able to fly back to Chicago later that night and appears to have avoided a concussion or a related injury. Barring a setback, Pettis should be full go heading into Chicago's season finale this weekend against the Vikings.

Josh Blackwell - Lands on injured reserve Blackwell (undisclosed) was placed on IR on Wednesday.
Impact It's unclear what injury Blackwell suffered or when it occurred. The 23-year-old played a season-high 40 snaps in Sunday's loss to the Lions, recording five tackles (three solo). He'll now focus on returning next season at full health.
JANUARY 4 • ROTOWIRE
Michael Schofield III - Goes on IR Schofield (knee) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
Impact Schofield exited Sunday's loss to the Lions with the injury, and he was unable to return. His move to IR will end his season early, while opening up a potential roster spot for the team's Week 18 game against the Vikings.

Teven Jenkins - Moved to IR Jenkins (neck) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
Impact Jenkins exited Sunday's loss to the Lions with the injury, and he was unable to return. His move to IR will end his season early, while opening up a potential roster spot for the team's Week 18 game against the Vikings.

Equanimeous St. Brown - Signs one-year extension St. Brown and the Bears agreed Wednesday on a one-year contract extension, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
Impact Selected by Green Bay in the sixth round of the 2018 draft, St. Brown caught 21 passes for 328 yards as a rookie and now has a similar receiving line (20-320-1) four years later in his first season on the Bears. He had only 215 receiving yards total over the three years in between, but the Bears seem to have been pleased with his blocking in their run-heavy offense, as St. Brown has started each of the 15 games he's played while handling a 60 percent snap share. That said, he might just be a backup and special teams player next season if the Bears find a real receiving threat to pair with Darnell Mooney (ankle). St. Brown is expected to get his 16th start of the season this Sunday against the Vikings, catching passes from Nathan Peterman instead of Justin Fields (hip), who has been ruled out for the season finale.
JANUARY 4 • ROTOWIRE
Justin Fields - Ruled out for Week 18 Fields is dealing with a strained hip and has been ruled out for Sunday's season finale against the Vikings.
Impact With Fields sitting out the contest, Nathan Peterman will start at quarterback for the Bears. Fields will thus finish the 2022 campaign having completed 192 of 318 passing attempts (60.4 percent) for 2,242 yards, 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions to go along with 160 carries for 1,143 yards and eight rushing scores in 15 games. Looking ahead to next season, Fields' dual-threat ability will make him a coveted fantasy asset, though he'll need to prove that he's making progress as a passer. The Bears are likely to surround him with several new pass-catching options in 2023 after few of his current weapons emerged as reliable targets this season. Fields will be going into the third year of his rookie contract that runs through 2024.
JANUARY 4 • ROTOWIRE
Nathan Peterman - Starting season finale Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said that Peterman will start Sunday's season finale against the Vikings, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
Impact Peterman will enter the starting lineup with Justin Fields (hip) ruled out with a short-term injury, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. The Vikings have clinched the NFC North division title and may ultimately rest some starters Week 18, but Peterman's chances of racking up fantasy production in his first start since 2018 will still be hampered by having to work with Chase Claypool, Byron Pringle, Equanimeous St. Brown and Cole Kmet as his top receiving options.
JANUARY 4 • ROTOWIRE
Jaquan Brisker - Eclipses 90 tackles in loss Brisker posted eight tackles (six solo) during Sunday's 41-10 defeat to the Lions.
Impact Brisker logged his fourth-most tackles in a game this season and his most since returning from a two-game absence with a concussion Weeks 12 and 13. The second-round rookie has also totaled 21 tackles and a sack since the Bears' Week 14 bye, and he should have a chance to record a 100-tackle season if he posts at least a moderate outing Week 18 against Minnesota.
