Exits game with ankle injury
Perriman was forced out of Sunday's game against the 49ers with an ankle injury, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.
Impact
This is another big hit to a Jets' pass-catching corps already without Jamison Crowder (hamstring). Added snaps and targets are now available for both Chris Hogan and Braxton Berrios.

Larger role on tap
Perriman is expected to play a more prominent role Sunday against the 49ers, as Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that slot receiver Jamison Crowder (hamstring) will...
Impact
Perriman's stock was already on the rise this week thanks to the prospect of facing San Francisco's injury-riddled secondary after being blanketed by elite Bills cornerback Tre'Davious White in his Jets debut. Now that Crowder -- who saw 13 targets to Perriman's five Week 1 -- is out of the mix, look for quarterback Sam Darnold to look Perriman's way early and often.

Good to go
Jets head coach Adam Gase said Perriman (knee) is slated to practice fully Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Perriman's return to practice sets the stage for him to see a key role in the Jets offense in Sunday's season opener versus the Bills. The wideout will now look to build off the late-season surge he enjoyed with the Buccaneers in 2019, with his fantasy upside tied to how well he meshes with third-year starting quarterback Sam Darnold.

Could return to practice soon
Head coach Adam Gase said Perriman (knee) is "feeling a lot better," J.B. Long of the Los Angeles Rams Radio Network reports.
Impact
Perriman underwent an MRI last week that didn't reveal any structural damage in his knee, but the wideout has dealt with swelling nonetheless. It sounds as if the swelling is starting to subside, although he could still open the practice week as a limited or non-participant Wednesday.

Misses practice yet again
Perriman (knee) isn't practicing Thursday, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
Impact
Perriman's first reported absence from practice was Aug. 23, so he's now coming up on two weeks. He did some running on a side field Wednesday, and results from an MRI suggest his knee shouldn't be a long-term issue. However, coach Adam Gase acknowledged a troubling pattern of on-and-off swelling, with Perriman thus far unable to put the issue fully behind him. The veteran wideout still has some time to get ready for the season opener at Buffalo, but it'll be cause for serious concern if he isn't practicing by early next week.

No evidence of structural damage
Perriman is still dealing with swelling in his knee, but a recent MRI didn't reveal anything that would affect him throughout the year, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Even with an MRI bringing good news, it's a little concerning that this has been an on-and-off problem, with coach Adam Gase acknowledging Perriman's pattern of progress followed by minor setbacks, per Hughes. Even so, the Jets appear optimistic that Perriman to be ready for Week 1 at Buffalo, especially after he was spotted running on a side field during Wednesday's practice. He's been held out of team drills for the past week and a half.

Working on side field
Perriman (knee) was spotted running on a side field during Wednesday's practice, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
Impact
A swollen knee has kept Perriman out of practice for more than a week, but he seems to be making some progress as the Jets' season opener draws closer. Assuming he's able to play, he'll open the season as the Jets' top outside receiver, likely playing the vast majority of offensive snaps in a tricky Week 1 matchup at Buffalo.

Bothered by swollen knee
Perriman's swollen knee has kept him out of practice for more than a week now, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
The issue was initially considered minor, with coach Adam Gase saying last week that he expected Perriman to resume practicing Saturday. The wideout didn't return over the weekend, nor did he participate Monday and Tuesday. There's still time to get healthy for Week 1 at Buffalo, but things are starting to look awfully dicey for a Jets offense that's seen nearly all of its key receivers suffer injuries this summer.

Misses practice again
Perriman (knee) isn't practicing Tuesday, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.
Impact
Last week, coach Adam Gase said he expected Perriman to resume practicing Saturday. It's now been three days since that target, with only 12 days to go before a Week 1 game at Buffalo. There's still time for Perriman to recover from his supposedly minor knee injury, but Jets fans and fantasy managers alike have some justification to feel concerned. With Denzel Mims (hamstring) also absent, the likes of Chris Hogan and Josh Malone have seen first-team reps alongside Jamison Crowder.
