Moves to injured reserve Berrios (quadriceps) was placed on injured reserve Friday.

Impact The 26-year-old was labeled doubtful for Sunday's matchup with the Bills earlier in the day, and the Jets opted to open a roster spot by moving him to injured reserve. It was a strong year for Berrios, as he caught 46 passes for 431 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing seven times for 40 yards and two additional scores. He was also an effective return man and averaged 30.4 yards on kickoffs and 13.4 yards on punts, plus one return touchdown. Berrios is scheduled to become a free agent at the start of the new league year in March.

Impact Coach Robert Saleh said Friday morning it wasn't "looking good" for Berrios to play Week 18, and the 26-year-old is now officially doubtful. Jamison Crowder is poised to take over in the slot after missing the past two games. Assuming he's inactive Sunday, Berrios will finish 2021 with 46 receptions for 431 yards and two touchdowns plus seven carries for 40 yards and two additional scores. He also scored one return touchdown and averaged 30.4 yards on kick returns and 13.4 yards on punt returns.

Impact That said, the report notes that head coach Robert Saleh said he "isn't overly concerned" about Berrios' quad issue, with the wide receiver's Wednesday absence being more of a maintenance day. If Berrios is able to return to practice Thursday in any capacity, he would presumably be on track to play Sunday against the Bills. Berrios is coming off a big Week 17 game in which he totaled eight receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown on 12 targets to go with two carries for 12 yards and a touchdown. Though Berrios is still likely to see plenty of involvement on offense if available for the season finale, he'll probably see at least a slight drop in targets and touches if one or both of Elijah Moore (quadriceps) and Jamison Crowder (calf) are cleared to play.
