Smashes Cowboys for three TDs Gibson carried the ball 20 times for 115 yards and three touchdowns and caught five of seven targets for 21 yards in Thursday's 41-16 win over the Cowboys.

Impact The Dallas defense simply had no answer for Washington's running game -- even Peyton Barber averaged 5.2 yards a carry -- and Gibson took full advantage, scoring on a five-yard scamper in the first quarter before reeling off 23-yard and 37-yard scores as his team pulled away in the fourth. In the process, Gibson became the first rookie to score three TDs in a Thanksgiving Day game since Randy Moss, who racked up three scores on the Cowboys in 1998. Gibson has found his way into the end zone in five straight games, but his streak could be in jeopardy in Week 13 on the road against the Steelers.

Impact Washington listed Gibson as a non-participant on its initial Week 12 injury report, but the rookie running back was likely just receiving a maintenance day coming off a 17-touch, 104-yard outing in Sunday's win over the Bengals. His return to full activity Tuesday suggests Gibson should be ready to lead Washington's ground game Thanksgiving Day against the Cowboys.

Impact Gibson may simply be receiving a bit of rest with a short week ahead of Thursday's game in Dallas, so for now his status simply bears monitoring. Impact Gibson opened the scoring with a one-yard touchdown plunge late in the first quarter, then helped set up Steven Sims' three-yard touchdown reception in the third with a pair of runs over 15 yards. He finished six yards shy of his second career 100-yard rushing performance, but Gibson's up to five touchdowns in the last four games and eight overall. The rookie third-round pick should continue to handle a sizable workload on the ground against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving barring a large early deficit.

Scores twice in narrow defeat Gibson carried 13 times for 45 yards and two touchdowns while catching all four of his targets for 20 yards during Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Lions.

Impact Gibson struggled to the tune of 3.5 yards per carry against a beatable Detroit defensive front, but he wound up with an admirable fantasy line thanks to a pair of rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter. He also reached four receptions for the fourth time in his last six games, though he did little in that department outside a 13-yard catch and run. The dynamic rookie now has four touchdowns in his last three games and seven through his first nine NFL outings. He'll look to add to his numbers next Sunday in a favorable matchup against the Bengals.
