Impact Wingard's absence will leave the team thin at safety going forward, as Brandon Watson is the only healthy free safety dressed Thursday. Watson will step in as the starter Thursday, and Wingard will have an extra few days to recover before his team is back out there in Week 4 against Cincinnati.

Impact Undrafted out of Wyoming last season, Wingard played significant snaps Weeks 12-14 for an injured Ronnie Harrison but otherwise was almost exclusively a special-teamer. Overall, he finished with 30 tackles (22 solo), one sack and one forced fumble in 16 games. As the Jags kick off camp, Wingard will have to wait until he passes the required tests before he can join his teammates.
