Limited usage in loss Collins rushed twice for eight yards in Sunday's 30-17 loss to the Vikings.
Impact Collins finished third among Seahawks running backs with 14 snaps. Considering his usage is already limited -- he rushed just once in Week 2 against the Titans -- Collins is nothing more than an insurance policy for Chris Carson managers, though even that role will be in question once Rashaad Penny (calf) returns.

Breaks off 25-yard run Collins rushed once for 25 yards in Sunday's 33-30 loss to the Titans.
Impact Chris Carson led the backfield with 13 rushes for 31 yards and two scores, and Collins was the only other running back to record a carry. However, his six offensive snaps finished third behind Carson (34) and Travis Homer (14). The Seahawks appear comfortable operating with Carson as the clear lead back while Rashaad Penny (calf) is out. Collins won't have much fantasy upside while Carson is healthy.

Not active Sunday Collins (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game at Indianapolis.
Impact After a preseason in which he turned 29 touches into 131 yards from scrimmage and one TD, Collins earned a spot on the Seahawks' regular-season roster. However, he'll take a seat Week 1 while Chris Carson paces the backfield, with all of Rashaad Penny, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas in reserve.

Earns roster spot Collins was one of five running backs to make the Seahawks' initial 53-man roster Tuesday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Impact Collins was solid enough as a rusher and a pass catcher this preseason to make the depth-chart slotting behind top back Chris Carson ambiguous. Rashaad Penny is still likely the favorite for the No. 2 role, but Collins showed he can contribute in the backfield if Carson goes down.

Alex Collins seems to have played his way on to Seahawks roster. What does that mean for Rashad Penny and the other backs? The two-time Seahawk has shown plenty of versatility this preseason. Is it enough that they might say goodbye to Penny?

Could secure No. 2 job Collins rushed 10 times for 37 yards and a score and caught all seven targets for 52 yards in Saturday's 27-0 preseason win over the Chargers.
Impact Collins and Rashaad Penny split reps during the first half in a battle for the No. 2 role behind Chris Carson. Through two quarters, Collins carried four times for 21 yards while Penny toted the ball seven times for 24 yards. Penny sat out the second half while Collins finished the game in a backfield tandem with Josh Johnson. At the start of training camp, it appeared Penny would be the clear No. 2, but Collins' preseason performance -- especially his pass-catching ability -- has made that less certain. If the oft-injured Chris Carson goes down again, Collins and Penny will likely both get a shot to take over as the lead back, as head coach Pete Carroll may defer to a hot-hand approach.

Puts up 37 yards Collins rushed seven times for 20 yards and caught both of his targets for 17 yards in Saturday's 30-3 preseason loss to the Broncos.
Impact Chris Carson didn't play in Saturday's game, leaving Collins, Rashaad Penny, DeeJay Dallas and Josh Johnson to pick up the backfield reps. The four running backs totaled 58 yards on 21 carries; none of them showed anything of note. Penny still is considered the front runner for the No. 2 job behind Carson, so Collins is aiming for the No. 3 role.

Impact Collins had plenty of opportunities to showcase his talents at minicamp due to Chris Carson (personal) Rashaad Penny (knee) and Travis Homer (calf) all sidelined. He reportedly looked both trimmer and faster than he did during his first stint in Seattle. The 26-year-old is competing to earn a spot on the team's final roster.

FEBRUARY 26, 2021 • OREGONLIVE.COM
Back with 'Hawks The Seahawks re-signed Collins on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact Collins appeared in three regular-season games with Seattle last season, recording 18 carries for 77 yards (4.3 YPC) and two scores. He also spent time on the team's practice squad. He'll compete for a depth role in a backfield that could lose both Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde to free agency.
FEBRUARY 24, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Sent back to practice squad Collins reverted to the Seahawks' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Impact Collins signed with the Seahawks in November, marking the completion of his journey back from a suspension and a broken leg. The 26-year-old running back made his first NFL appearance since 2019 and played three regular-season games, carrying 18 times for 77 yards and two touchdowns. The Seahawks' backfield is in limbo heading into the 2021 season, as Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde are pending free agents, while Rashaad Penny (knee), DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer (knee) are still unproven at the top level. Collins could be in the plans.
JANUARY 11, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Elevated for playoff opener Collins was elevated from the practice squad Friday ahead of Saturday's playoff opener against the Rams, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact Collins played in three regular-season games for Seattle, rushing 18 times for 77 yards and two touchdowns while adding one catch for four yards. He'll offer additional running back depth against the Rams with Rashaad Penny (knee) questionable, though the combination of Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde will likely handle all of Seattle's carries.

Bumps back to practice sqaud Collins reverted to the Seahawks' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Impact Collins made his third appearance for the Seahawks this year because Carlos Hyde (illness) and DeeJay Dallas (ankle) were unavailable for Sunday's win over the 49ers. The fifth-year running back rushed five times for 29 yards and a touchdown, bringing his total for the year to 18 carries for 77 yards (4.3 YPC) and two scores. Collins will be a reliable depth option as the Seahawks eye a playoff run.
JANUARY 5, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Rises to active roster The Seahawks elevated Collins to the active roster Saturday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact Carlos Hyde (illness) and DeeJay Dallas (ankle) have both been ruled out for Sunday's game against the 49ers. In turn, Collins will make his first appearance for the Seahawks since totaling 45 yards and a touchdown in Week 10 against the Rams. Collins should slot in as the No. 3 running back behind Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny.
