Seahawks down starting guard Lewis, two RBs vs. Washington
The Seattle Seahawks will be without starting left guard Damien Lewis and running backs Rashaad Penny and Travis Homer on Monday night at Washington

Cleared for MNF
Collins (abdomen) has no injury designation for Monday's game at Washington, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact
Collins will continue playing through the groin injury, but while he could see some extra snaps/touches with both Rashaad Penny (hamstring) and Travis Homer (calf) ruled out, it'll likely be DeeJay Dallas getting most of the playing time on passing downs. Seattle might end up activating a third running back from the practice squad, with BJ Emmons and Josh Johnson being the options.

Limited, per usual
Collins (abdomen) was a limited practice participant Friday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact
The Seahawks now are calling it an abdominal injury rather than a groin injury, but apart from that, it's the usual route of limited practices for Collins, who has double-digit carries in seven straight games but is averaging just 49.7 rushing yards per game and 3.8 YPC in that stretch. He also has just eight targets all year, with DeeJay Dallas or Travis Homer getting most of the backfield snaps in hurry-up, third-down and long-yardage situations. Collins does seem likely to handle the lead-runner role again Monday night in Washington, though his job security is poor in general.

'Limited' on Thursday's report
Collins (abdomen) was listed as limited on Thursday's practice estimate, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact
The Seahawks backfield currently is more banged-up than at any point this season. Chris Carson has been shut down for the season and soon will undergo neck surgery. Both Collins and Travis Homer (calf) were 'limited' Thursday, while Rashaad Penny (hamstring) wouldn't have practiced at all. Collins has played through injuries for some time now, but the situation behind him could be any combination of Penny, Homer and DeeJay Dallas on Monday at Washington.

Mostly quiet game
Collins ran for 36 yards on 10 carries against Arizona on Sunday.
Impact
Seattle's home loss was even less competitive than the 23-13 final score implied, so the flow of the game made it difficult for Collins and the Seattle ground game to stay involved. DeeJay Dallas operated as Seattle's primary passing-down back, and as long as that's the case Collins might be dependent on rushing production for fantasy value. Most 3-7 teams find themselves trailing often, so Collins' consistency and upside might suffer as a result, but when there's running to be done he's still Seattle's best option.

OK for Sunday, gains job security
Collins (groin) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact
Fantasy managers may have had some reason for concern after Collins took a step back from limited practice activity Wednesday to no participation Thursday, but he's on track to get enough work in at Friday's session to suit up Sunday. The Seahawks apparently were just giving him some rest to manage a groin injury that's been lingering for weeks, but Collins should remain the leader of a Seattle rushing game that's been relatively unproductive lately. According to Boyle, head coach Pete Carroll also relayed Friday that Chris Carson (neck) will undergo surgery and remain on injured reserve for the rest of the season, giving Collins some extra security atop the depth chart in spite of his lackluster production.

No practice Thursday
Collins (groin) was held out of practice Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact
For a fourth straight week of prep, Collins is contending with a groin issue, but he's rarely missed practice during that span. Thursday's development may be maintenance related to keep him as fresh as possible in a backfield that is waiting for Chris Carson to get past lingering neck soreness. Carson is in the midst of his 21-day practice window but now is one week removed from his last bit of on-field work. If Carson remains on IR and the Seahawks clear Collins to play Sunday versus the Cardinals, the latter should earn most of the touches out of the backfield, with Travis Homer, Rashaad Penny and DeeJay Dallas on hand for leftover snaps and touches.

Logs limited practice Wednesday
Collins (groin) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact
Collins (30) and Travis Homer (31) had a near even split of the running back snaps this past Sunday at Green Bay. However, Collins received the majority of the touches (11 versus four), as Homer primarily worked as an extra pass protector in Russell Wilson's (right finger) return to action. Clearly, Collins has been able to gut through the groin injury that has impacted his practice reps during preparation for each of the Seahawks' last three games, but his production has been lacking (38 touches for 137 yards from scrimmage and no touchdowns). There's also the Chris Carson situation to monitor with this backfield. After his practice window opened last week, he got on the field Wednesday and Thursday, but he hasn't been able to in the meantime due to a sore neck. Carson doesn't seem to be an imminent threat to Collins' standing as the team's No. 1 RB, but things could change if the former gets on the right track in his recovery.

Stalled by dud offense
Collins ran for 41 yards on 10 carries against Green Bay on Sunday.
Impact
Collins usually runs effectively and this game was no exception, but what was exceptional was how poorly Russell Wilson played in his return from his finger injury. The Seahawks passing game was a zero and the inability to move the chains deprived Collins of carry and target opportunities in a game where he might have otherwise been productive. It's not clear whether Chris Carson (neck) might return for the Week 11 game against Arizona, but Collins would likely revert to a modest role off the bench in that scenario.

Remains in lead role for Week 10
Collins (groin) won't have to contend with Chris Carson (neck) for running back reps in Sunday's contest in Green Bay, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact
Seattle designated Carson for return from injured reserve this week, and he managed some practice reps Wednesday and Thursday before sitting out Friday's session. Coach Pete Carroll noted the team doesn't "feel like it's time yet" to bring him back to the active roster, which will give Collins another chance to lead the backfield. Collins himself had limitations Wednesday and Thursday before capping Week 10 prep with a full practice, but he was clear of a designation for Sunday. In four games as the replacement for Carson, Collins has racked up 65 touches for 258 yards from scrimmage while scoring one TD on the ground. Rashaad Penny, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas also are on hand for complementary reps out of the Seahawks backfield.

Fine for Sunday
Collins (groin) will enter Sunday's game in Green Bay without an injury designation, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Impact
Coming out of a Week 9 bye, the groin injury is a minor concern compared to Chris Carson (neck) potentially returning from injured reserve. The Seahawks are treating Carson as a game-time decision, potentially ending Collins' four-week run as the starter. If so, he'll have averaged 15.3 carries for 56.8 yards (4.7 YPC) and 0.25 TDs as a starter, plus 1.0 catches for 7.8 yards, with the vast majority of his snaps coming behind QB Geno Smith rather than Russell Wilson. If Carson doesn't end up playing, Collins should get a shot to start alongside Wilson for the first time since Week 5.

Puts in limited work again
Collins (groin) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact
For the second consecutive session, Collins operated with a cap on his reps, which has been the case for each of the Seahawks' previous two games Weeks 7 and 8. There's a decent chance he enters the weekend with a designation, but his availability doesn't seem to be in doubt for Sunday's contest at Green Bay. If Collins ends up playing this weekend, there's a chance he'll be joined by Chris Carson, who has missed four games in a row due to a sore neck. Seattle designated Carson to return from injured reserve Wednesday, and if he's activated he could eat into the 16.3 touches per game that Collins has averaged during the former's absence.

Still tending to groin injury
Collins (groin) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact
Even after Seattle's Week 9 bye, Collins continues to be bothered by the groin injury that impacted his practice reps in the team's last two games. He still operated as the lead back, compiling 26 carries for 79 yards and one catch for nine yards. During that same span, the trio of Rashaad Penny, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas combined for 20 touches for 48 yards from scrimmage. The Seahawks designated Chris Carson for return from injured reserve Wednesday, after which Pete Carroll noted the running back isn't dealing with discomfort in his neck and has a chance to play Sunday in Green Bay, barring a setback. If so, Carson could take on his customary No. 1 role and push Collins back down the depth chart.

Generates 44 yards
Collins rushed 10 times for 44 yards in the 31-7 win over the Jaguars.
Impact
The Seahawks spread the wealth in the backfield after getting out to a big lead early, but Collins still managed to lead the backfield in carries while Rashaad Penny, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas combined for 15 rushes. Collins was clearly the best back with 4.4 yards per carries while no other back recorded a carry of more than seven yards. The Seahawks seem to be pessimistic about Chris Carson's (neck) chances to return, so Collins should be the lead back in Week 10 against the Packers, who have allowed 115.0 rushing yards per game this season.

Active again Sunday
Collins (groin) is listed as active Sunday versus the Jaguars.
Impact
Collins sandwiched a pair of limited sessions around an absence from Thursday's practice during Week 8 prep, entering the weekend as questionable for this contest. Coach Pete Carroll expressed optimism Friday that Collins would play through his groin injury for a second straight game, and he'll do just that Sunday. Collins should be the Seahawks' primary running back against a Jacksonville defense that has allowed 125.2 yards from scrimmage per game and nine TDs to running backs in six outings this season. Still, he again could lose some snaps to reserves Rashaad Penny, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas.

Still on track to play
Collins (groin), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, is on track to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact
Even though Collins is being listed as questionable for the second straight week with the groin issue, head coach Pete Carroll suggested Friday that the running back was on track to play. Collins' situation apparently hasn't taken a turn for the worse heading into Sunday, but fantasy managers planning on keeping him active in Week 8 will still want to ensure he avoids the Seahawks' inactive list, which will be released 90 minutes prior to the 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff. Collins played only 40 percent of the offensive snaps in Seattle's Week 7 loss to the Saints, but he still led the backfield in touches (17) by a wide margin.
