Carter Bryant - Team option picked up Saturday The Spurs exercised the team option on Bryant for the 2027-28 season, Jared Weiss of The Athletic reports.
Impact Bryant, the 2025 No. 14 overall pick, appeared in 71 regular-season games as a rookie in 2025-26. He got off to a slow start, but demonstrated signs of growth by ending the year averaging 7.0 points and 1.9 assists in seven regular-season appearances in April. Bryant should be more productive in 2026-27, though the verdict is still out regarding his potential at the professional level. The Spurs are willing to be patient and find out, so the team picked up his option for the 2027-28 season.

Impact Harper had a quality 2025-26 campaign, averaging 11.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists over 22.6 minutes per contest in 69 regular-season games, including four starts. The 2025 No. 2 overall pick has All-Star upside, though it may take him another year or two before he gets to that point. Harper will presumably continue to come off the bench behind De'Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle in 2026-27, but he should consistently see more minutes than some of the starters around the NBA.

Stephon Castle - Option picked up by Spurs The Spurs exercised the team option on Castle for the 2027-28 season Saturday, Jared Weiss of The Athletic reports.
Impact In an unsurprising move, San Antonio picked up Castle's team option for the 2027-28 season. After that time, he will be a restricted free agent. However, there's a good chance both sides will agree on an extension before it gets to that point, though it can't happen until next offseason. The 2024 No. 4 overall pick has appeared in 149 regular-season games for the Spurs since entering the NBA, averaging 15.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.0 steals over 28.2 minutes per contest. Castle's three-point shooting needs some work, but he makes up for it with all-around contributions on both sides of the ball.

Domantas Sabonis - Shows promise for full load Sabonis tallied 14 points (4-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 5-10 FT), 10 rebounds and one assist over 30 minutes in Friday's 126-97 preseason loss to the Spurs.
Impact Sabonis notched a double-double despite a dreadful night at the charity stripe. Sabonis has been on a long, bumpy road back to elite form, but getting a full 30-minute run in the preseason finale is an encouraging sign of his readiness after missing most of last season with a knee injury.

Impact Acuff had a quieter night in limited minutes, as the lopsided score kept Sacramento's starters on the bench late in the second half. Still, the rookie reached double figures in all four preseason games and averaged 17.3 points, including a 25-point, eight-assist effort against Golden State. The No. 7 overall pick in the 2026 draft is set to open the season as the Kings' starting point guard, putting Acuff on track to be one of the season's most productive rookies.
