Finding the Silver Lining in Sacramento Kings' Blowout Losses
The Sacramento Kings are enduring one of the roughest stretches in recent memory, and the numbers alone tell the story. A 13-game losing str...

DeMar DeRozan - Shaky stretch continues
DeRozan ended Monday's 120-94 loss to the Pelicans with eight points (3-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), one rebound and one assist in 20 minutes.
Impact
Although Monday's game was a blowout, it's still beginning to look like the Kings are embracing a youth movement. With DeRozan's value starting to dip, fantasy managers should remain patient and hope his playing time climbs back up a bit. Over his last six contests, the veteran forward has averaged 14.0 points, 2.8 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 24.6 minutes per game while shooting just 39.4 percent from the floor.

Malik Monk - Remains out with illness
Monk (illness) didn't play in Monday's game against the Pelicans.
Impact
Monk has missed two straight games due to an illness, and his final chance to suit up before the All-Star break will come Wednesday in Utah. After the break, it's unclear what Monk's role will be, but that'll likely depend on the health of Zach LaVine (finger), Keegan Murray (ankle) and De'Andre Hunter (eye). From Jan. 9 through Feb. 6, Monk appeared in 14 of 16 games, averaging 14.4 points, 3.3 assists and 2.1 rebounds in 23.4 minutes per game.

Dylan Cardwell - Grabs double-digit boards again
Cardwell closed Monday's 120-94 loss to the Pelicans with six points (3-5 FG), 11 rebounds, one assist, two blocks and two steals in 32 minutes off the bench.
Impact
The Kings were down by 15 at halftime and gave younger players like Caldwell plenty of run in the rout. The undrafted rookie center responded to the big workload by pulling down double-digit rebounds for a fourth straight game, a stretch in which he's averaging 9.3 points, 11.8 boards, 1.8 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 steals in 28.5 minutes. Domantas Sabonis (back) has been on the shelf for three of those contests, but even once he's healthy, Sacramento seems likely to prioritize the development of youngsters like Caldwell given the team's league-worst 12-43 record.

Russell Westbrook - Supplies 17 points in rout
Westbrook chipped in 17 points (7-17 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and two assists across 21 minutes during Monday's 120-94 loss to the Pelicans.
Impact
The Kings continue to monitor Westbrook's workload in the wake of a foot injury he suffered in late January, and the 37-year-old guard has played 26 minutes or fewer in three of four games since returning to the lineup. During that span, he's averaged 14.3 points, 5.3 assists, 2.5 boards and 2.3 threes in just 24.8 minutes a contest. With Sacramento holding the worst record in the NBA at 12-43 and headed for the top of the lottery, Westbrook could be one of the veterans who finds their usage scaled back for the remainder of the season even if he's fully healthy.

Maxime Raynaud - Rolls to career night
Raynaud produced 21 points (8-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 19 rebounds, one assist and one steal in 38 minutes during Monday's 120-94 loss to the Pelicans.
Impact
Raynaud was one of the lone bright spots for the Kings in a blowout loss, as he posted his best scoring night since Dec. 18 while logging just his second double-double since Jan. 1. The big man took full advantage of Domantas Sabonis (back) and was rewarded with a season-high 38 minutes to show what he could do. Raynaud has been heavily involved even with Sabonis on the court, so look for Sacramento to continue the young center's development heading into the All-Star break and beyond.

Daeqwon Plowden - Won't start Monday
Plowden is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Pelicans, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.
Impact
Plowden turned in a solid effort in his first start of the season Saturday, scoring 16 points, though he'll revert to a reserve role for Monday's contest. The Bowling Green product has appeared in five NBA games this season, averaging 5.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 19.8 minutes per game.

Precious Achiuwa - Back in mix
Achiuwa is starting Monday's game against the Pelicans, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.
Impact
Achiuwa has fallen out of the rotation over Sacramento's last three games or so, but it appears he's earned himself an opportunity to prove he belongs Monday night. Daeqwon Plowden will move to the bench with Achiuwa sliding into the starting five.
