Malik Monk News, Rumors, Updates - Sacramento Kings

Out for personal reasons Monk (personal) is out for Friday's game against the Pelicans.

Impact Monk is away from the team for personal reasons Friday. His next chance to rejoin the Kings arrives Sunday, when Sacramento takes on the Clippers. Devin Carter and Nique Clifford should see enough playing time to warrant streaming attention in all fantasy leagues Friday.

Iffy for Friday Monk (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against New Orleans.

Impact Monk was held out of Sunday's loss to Brooklyn due to a right shoulder contusion and is in jeopardy of missing Friday's game with soreness in that same shoulder. If the 28-year-old guard isn't cleared to face the Pelicans, Daeqwon Plowden and Devin Carter would be candidates to see an uptick in playing time.

Fills stat sheet Wednesday Monk finished with 18 points (6-11 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal in 29 minutes during Wednesday's 123-115 win over Toronto.

Impact Monk returned from a one-game absence and made his presence felt off the bench, but that's a common thing for the veteran sharpshooter since he's played in the second unit most of the season. This was the 27th time Monk scored at least 15 points coming off the bench in 2025-26, so he's a reliable option in most fantasy formats, regardless of the league's format, as he's a player who will find a way to score despite his bench role. That said, he's ending the season on a bit of a down note. Monk is shooting 32 percent from three since the All-Star break, compared to the 42.6 percent from deep he had before the break.

Impact Monk started in each of the Kings' last three contests, most recently finishing with 10 points, two rebounds, seven assists and one steal across 27 minutes in Saturday's 123-113 loss to Atlanta. However, he won't suit up for this one due to a right-shoulder contusion. With DeMar DeRozan (hamstring) also ruled out, among several others on the roster, DaQuan Jeffries, Nique Clifford, Daeqwon Plowden and Killian Hayes should all see more action, with two of them possibly moving into the starting lineup.

Season-high 32 points in win Monk amassed 32 points (8-17 FG, 7-13 3Pt, 9-9 FT), six assists, two rebounds and one block across 30 minutes in Sunday's 126-122 win over the Nets.

Impact With the Kings shorthanded Sunday, Monk saw an expanded role and made the most of the opportunity, tying his season high in triples en route to a season-best 32 points. The veteran guard also led the second unit in assists and has dished out at least five dimes in three of his last four outings. Killian Hayes (toe) and Nique Clifford (ankle) both exited Sunday's win early, so Monk would be in line for increased minutes in Charlotte on Tuesday if Hayes, Clifford or Russell Westbrook (foot) is sidelined.
