Impact Edwards is back in the starting lineup after coming off the bench in Wednesday's win over the Knicks. With James Johnson (wrist) ruled out, Edwards could see more usage than he would otherwise. The 21-year-old is averaging 6.7 points and 4.3 rebounds across 24.9 minutes per game this season.

Impact Edwards had started the previous 18 games at power forward but will come off the bench Wednesday behind veteran James Johnson. Edwards had only averaged 22.0 minutes per game over his last five games, so this may not be a huge downgrade. In the seven games this season in which the 21-year-old came of the bench, he averaged 6.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.0 assist across 17.6 minutes.

Impact Edwards has started in each of the Nets' last 17 games, but he's typically struggled to turn in meaningful numbers while serving as a low-usage, three-and-D forward. The rookie changed the narrative Saturday, turning in what was his best stat line since he erupted for 17 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals in 44 minutes back on Dec. 14, when Brooklyn was shorthanded due to several COVID-19-related absences. Edwards looks like he'll continue to remain in a starting role at least until Kevin Durant (knee) returns, but the 21-year-old shouldn't be viewed as a roster-worthy option outside of deeper fantasy leagues.

Impact Though he hasn't come close to matching Kevin Durant (knee) from a production standpoint on the offensive end while replacing him as the Nets' starting power forward over the past seven games, Edwards has impressed with his work on the defensive end. Edwards' efforts were critical in neutralizing Stephen Curry (19 points on 5-for-18 shooting from the field), though the Warriors received enough support elsewhere to come away with the victory. The rookie's value to the Nets is evident in his playing time -- he's logged 30-plus minutes in seven of his last eight appearances -- but it hasn't meant much from a fantasy standpoint. With averages of 8.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.6 three-pointers, 1.0 blocks and 0.9 steals in 34.1 minutes over that aforementioned eight-game stretch, Edwards is best viewed as a streamer for defensive stats.
