INJURIES

Officially ruled out Hartenstein (Achilles) won't play in Tuesday's game versus the Nets, Ian Begley of SportsNet New York reports.
Impact Hartenstein will miss Tuesday's contest after being downgraded from questionable to out with a left Achilles injury he suffered against Toronto. Jericho Sims and Precious Achiuwa will likely receive increased playing time in his absence. Hartenstein's next chance to suit up is Thursday's matchup with Denver.

Trending in wrong direction Hartenstein (Achilles) is considered unlikely to play Tuesday against Brooklyn, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports.
Impact Hartenstein appears on track to miss his first game of the season, with Jericho Sims announced as the expected starter if Hartenstein can't suit up. Precious Achiuwa is coming off an 18-point, 11-rebound double-double Saturday, so he will likely factor into a center rotation that could feature a small-ball Julius Randle as well. Subtracting Hartenstein would be a slight synergistic downgrade for the Knicks' offense holistically.
JANUARY 23, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Questionable for Tuesday Hartenstein (ankle) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Nets,Ian Begley of SportsNet New York reports.
Impact Hartenstein tweaked his left ankle Saturday against the Raptors and was unable to return. He's still dealing with soreness and was held out of Monday's practice. If Hartenstein isn't able to play against the Nets, coach Tom Thibodeau said guys like Jericho Sims and Precious Achiuwa will need to step up. He also mentioned the possibility of Julius Randle and OG Anunoby filling in at center.
JANUARY 22, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Tweaks left ankle Hartenstein is dealing with left ankle soreness and will not return to Saturday's game against the Raptors. He finished with one point, four rebounds and one assist in 23 minutes.
Impact This is a tough blow for New York as they are lacking frontcourt depth. If Hartenstein isn't able to play in Tuesday's game against the Nets, the Knicks will likely turn to Precious Achiuwa to soak up some minutes. There's also a possibility for some small-ball lineups in that scenario.

Owns the glass as top rebounder Hartenstein ended Thursday's 113-109 victory over the Wizards with six points (3-5 FG), 17 rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals across 39 minutes.
Impact Hartenstein led all players in Thursday's contest in rebounds while adding a trio of assists and a pair of steals while anchoring the Knicks in the paint in a winning effort. Hartenstein has hauled in 15 or more rebounds in seven games this season, including in three of his last five outings.

Pulls down 20 rebounds Saturday Hartenstein posted 12 points (5-6 FG, 2-4 FT), 20 rebounds, two assists, four blocks and two steals over 42 minutes during Saturday's 106-94 win over the Grizzlies.
Impact If there was any doubt regarding how the Knicks were going to replace Mitchell Robinson (ankle), Hartenstein has erased them all, as he's proven to be a reliable presence on offense while also looking efficient as a rim finisher and passer. Hartenstein has grabbed double-digit rebounds in five of his last six starts, and he's averaging 10.0 points with 15.7 rebounds per contest in that span.

Corrals 15 rebounds Thursday Hartenstein closed Thursday's 128-124 loss to Dallas with eight points (2-3 FG, 4-4 FT), 15 rebounds, three assists and one steal in 32 minutes.
Impact Hartenstein has been a monster on the boards of late, tallying at least 14 rebounds in four of his past five contests. Though he's averaging a modest 9.6 points during that span, the big man has offered strong defensive numbers with 2.0 steals and 2.0 swats and has also shot a hearty 70.4 percent from the field. The Knicks initially struggled to find a starting center after Mitchell Robinson (ankle) was injured in early December, but Hartenstein appears to have a stranglehold on that role with his standout recent play.

Grabs 19 rebounds Saturday Hartenstein notched eight points (4-8 FG), 19 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and four steals across 39 minutes during Saturday's 121-105 win over the Wizards.
Impact Hartenstein has adjusted well to life as the Knicks' starting center considering Mitchell Robinson will miss the rest of the campaign with an ankle injury, and he continues to make an impact on the glass the same way Robinson was doing before being sidelined. Hartenstein is averaging 10.6 rebounds per game since being promoted to the starting unit on Dec. 20.

Efficient night in win Hartenstein recorded 17 points (8-9 FG, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals across 35 minutes during Friday's 128-92 win over the 76ers.
Impact Hartenstein has strung together solid performances in back-to-back games. Friday's win was particularly promising as he managed to hold his own against reigning MVP Joel Embiid. Hartenstein is getting heavy minutes since entering the starting lineup Dec. 20 and is averaging 6.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.5 blocks over 33.3 minutes per game since then.

Career-high 20 rebounds in win Hartenstein finished Wednesday's 116-100 win over the Bulls with 11 points (4-6 FG, 2-3 FT), 20 rebounds, one assist and five blocks over 37 minutes.
Impact Hartenstein outrebounded Bulls' center Andre Drummond, 20-16, and the former also matched a career high with five rejections in Wednesday's victory. Since being named the starter Dec. 20, Hartenstein is averaging 6.9 points on 56.8 percent shooting, 10.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.5 minutes over 33.3 minutes per game.
JANUARY 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Big defensive impact Monday Hartenstein registered seven points (2-3 FG, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds, three assists, three blocks and three steals across 39 minutes during Monday's 112-106 win over the Timberwolve...
Impact The six combined blocks and steals were a season high for Hartenstein, and it's the third straight game in which the center has nabbed at least three steals. Since moving into the starting lineup, he's averaging 6.4 points, 8.7 boards, 3.1 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.0 blocks, and the Knicks seem comfortable letting Hartenstein focus on the defensive end of the court while Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle carry the load on offense.
JANUARY 2, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Double-double against Bucks Hartenstein supplied 12 points (4-5 FG, 4-4 FT), 13 rebounds, one assist and one steal in 33 minutes during Saturday's 130-111 loss to Milwaukee.
Impact Making his second straight start with Jericho Sims (ankle) sidelined, Hartenstein recorded his second double-double of the campaign. Both of those performances have come in the last week as the 25-year-old center has pulled down double-digit boards in four straight games. Hartenstein did fail to record at least one block for the first time in December, and while his inconsistent offense can make him tough to roster in shallow fantasy formats, he's averaging 8.1 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.8 blocks in 31.0 minutes a night over eight games since Mitchell Robinson (ankle) was lost for the season.
DECEMBER 24, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Muted scoring in startt Hartenstein supplied two points (1-3 FG), 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocks across 30 minutes during Wednesday's 121-102 victory over the Nets.
Impact Despite being inserted into the starting lineup, Hartensein didn't receive any more playing time than he had over the last three games. While this is partly due to the Knicks blowing out the Nets, it also demonstrates how the 25-year-old big man already was New York's primary center, even with Jericho Sims (ankle) starting. With Mitchell Robinson (ankle) out for the season and Sims out for at least a week, Hartenstein should continue to receive increased playing time.
DECEMBER 21, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Will start Wednesday Hartenstein will start Wednesday's game against the Nets.
Impact With Mitchell Robinson (ankle) injured, Jericho Sims moved into the starting lineup, but Hartenstein saw more minutes and was more productive off the bench, averaging 8.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 blocks in 29.2 minutes over a five-game stretch. However, Sims suffered an ankle injury during Monday's win over the Lakers, allowing Hartenstein to log a season-high 39 minutes and a career-high 17 rebounds. Taj Gibson is also in the center mix, but Hartenstein figures to see all the playing time he can handle moving forward, as Robinson is slated to miss at least two months and Sims is expected to be sidelined for a week or two.
DECEMBER 21, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Grabs season-high 17 rebounds Hartenstein totaled nine points (3-4 FG, 3-6 FT), 17 rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocked shots across 38 minutes in Monday's 114-109 win over the Lakers.
Impact Hartenstein took advantage of an Jericho Sims' (ankle) early exit and had his best rebound performance of the season, surpassing his best minute total by a wide margin. Hartenstein has proven to be the best solution for Mitchell Robinson's (ankle) extended absence, and alongside Julius Randle's voluminous totals, the Knicks' frontcourt is in good hands.
DECEMBER 19, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Another strong performance Hartenstein amassed 11 points (4-7 FG, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals over 27 minutes during Monday's 136-130 win over the Raptors.
Impact Despite coming off the bench, Hartenstein logged 27 minutes at center, delivering another well-rounded performance. With Mitchell Robinson (ankle) set to miss at least eight weeks, Hartenstein was seen as the likely starter moving forward. In true Tom Thibodeau style, Jericho Sims was given the starting nod, although he saw just 21 minutes. Based on what we know about the respective players, Hartenstein should probably be picked up in most leagues.
DECEMBER 12, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Limited in victory Tuesday Hartenstein amassed four points (2-3 FG), six rebounds and two assists over 14 minutes during Tuesday's 115-91 victory over Charlotte.
Impact Hartensteing failed to hit 15 minutes for the fourth time in the past five games. Across 17 games to begin the season, he is averaging just 5.7 points and 4.9 rebounds in 17.0 minutes per game. Although he does have a somewhat fantasy-friendly game, he would need an injury to Mitchell Robinson to even sniff 12-team value.
NOVEMBER 29, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Solid performance in win Hartenstein tallied 11 points (5-9 FG, 1-1 FT) along with four rebounds and a steal over 17 minutes in a 116-114 win over the Hawks on Wednesday.
Impact Hartenstein turned in his third double-digit scoring performance of the season, proving his value as a scorer on the second unit. The 25-year-old center is averaging 6.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.4 blocks in 16.9 minutes thus far, and his role backing up Mitchell Robinson seems to be set in stone.
