Christian Braun - Re-enters rotation Tuesday Braun finished with five points (2-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt) and one rebound in 16 minutes in Tuesday's 116-115 loss to the Mavericks.

Impact After Braun and Bones Hyland combined to play just seven minutes in the Nuggets' previous game Sunday against the Pelicans, the two ended up essentially absorbing the rotation spot of Ish Smith, who didn't leave the bench in a coach's decision. According to Harrison Wind of TheDNVR.com, head coach Michael Malone said after Tuesday's contest that he's "got to find minutes for Christian," but that may prove more difficult once Michael Porter (heel) is ultimately cleared to play. In the short term, however, Braun looks as though he could serve as one of the Nuggets' top backups on the wing.

Ish Smith - Exits rotation Smith (coach's decision) didn't leave the bench in Tuesday's 116-115 loss to the Mavericks.

Impact After playing no fewer than 13 minutes in any of the Nuggets' last five games, Smith found himself outside of Denver's rotation while head coach Michael Malone turned to Bones Hyland and Christian Braun as his main guards off the bench. Hyland rewarded Malone for his faith by producing 20 points, five assists and four rebounds in 30 minutes, while Braun's contributions (five points in 16 minutes) were more muted. Because both Hyland and Braun are recent first-round picks, the Nuggets could continue to make them priorities over Smith, a 34-year-old journeyman on an expiring deal who lacks size as perimeter shooting.

Impact In his return from a seven-game absence, Green saw backup minutes at both forward spots, resulting in Vlatko Cancar (seven minutes) taking on a lesser role. Green is unlikely to see his role expand much moving forward; in fact, it may only get smaller once Michael Porter is cleared to return from his heel injury.
