Impact Nix had been in the G League since mid-January but will now rejoin the parent club with just over a month remaining in the regular season. He's made eight appearances for the Rockets this year and has averaged 3.8 points in 8.4 minutes per game.

Nets four-year deal The Rockets announced Tuesday that Nix's two-way deal was converted to a standard NBA contract.

Impact According to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle, the 20-year-old undrafted rookie's contract is for four years, a testament to the organization's optimism about his long-term upside. Nix, who went undrafted after bypassing college to play for the G League Ignite in 2020-21, has been one of the top performers in the G League this season while suiting up for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. In 27 games, Nix has averaged 19.0 points, 6.0 assists, 5.6 rebounds and 2.3 steals per contest. The 6-foot-4 guard isn't expected to crack the NBA rotation anytime soon, but he could get the opportunity to challenge for a spot on the second unit heading into 2022-23.
