Impact Blach currently holds a 6.30 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over 40 innings in 20 big-league appearances this season. His unimpressive numbers suggest that he'll be used as a low-leverage option out of Colorado's bullpen and could be sent back to the minors once Carlos Estevez returns from the COVID-19 injured list.

Impact Blach spent just over the minimum of 15 days on the shelf and will rejoin the Rockies' bullpen prior to Monday's series opener against the Dodgers. He made just one rehab appearance at Triple-A Albuquerque and allowed four runs on six hits and no walks while striking out one in 1.2 innings.

Impact Blah threw a bullpen session recently and will be able to return to game action with the Triple-A club next week. The southpaw isn't eligible to return from the injured list until June 26, but he seems to be trending toward a relatively brief absence.

Impact Blach injured his wrist during a collision with Jurickson Profar and was placed on the injured list June 11. He didn't provide much detail but did tell reporters Thursday that he had thrown a bullpen session since being sidelined and felt good afterward. It's unclear if Blach will be able to return after a minimum stay on the injured list, but he will be first eligible for activation June 26. Prior to going down, Blach struggled to a 6.61 ERA with a 1.50 WHIP across 31.1 innings.

Impact Bard entered the game with one out and the bases loaded in the fifth inning to replace German Marquez, and while he allowed a sac fly to Jonathan Villar, he eventually got the job done when Clint Frazier flied out to center. The sixth inning was far more comfortable and he retired the side in order. In the end, Blach needed just 21 pitches to record five outs and claimed his first win of the campaign. Blach became the seventh Rockies pitcher to record a save of at least three innings and the first to do so since Chris Rusin accomplished the feat in May of 2017. Although Sunday's performance was encouraging after Blach missed most of the last two seasons due to Tommy John surgery, Daniel Bard, Alex Colome and Carlos Estevez are the favorites for save chances early in the season.
