Kolby Allard - Earns rotation spot Allard is joining the starting rotation and will start Saturday against the Rays, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact The 23-year-old replaces fellow southpaw Hyeon-jong Yang in the rotation after Yang recorded another short, unimpressive start May 30. Allard made a spot start May 27, yielding two runs (both on homers) in four innings. He struggled as a starter in 2020, posting an 8.80 ERA in eight outings.

Hyeon-jong Yang - Shifting to bullpen Yang has been removed from the starting rotation and will be a reliever going forward, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact The lefty's four starts this season have been short and mostly ineffective, and he holds a 5.20 ERA in seven total appearances. Yang will need to drastically improve upon his 1.46 SO/W ratio if he's to be a viable relief option. Kolby Allard, replacing Yang in the rotation, will start Saturday, likely making Friday a bullpen game for the Rangers.

Josh Jung - Progressing toward return Jung (foot) has been running the bases and is about 10-14 days from joining an affiliate, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.
Impact It's unclear if Jung will join Triple-A Round Rock, where he was expected to start 2021 before suffering the stress fracture in March, or a lower-level affiliate. It is safe to assume, however, that the Rangers will exercise caution in timing the return of one of their top prospects.
