Added for doubleheader The Rockies recalled Gordon from Triple-A Albuquerque ahead of his scheduled start in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader versus the Tigers at Coors Field.

Impact Gordon is being designated as the Rockies' 27th man for the twin bill, so he's expected to be returned to Albuquerque immediately after the second game of the day. Over his six starts with Albuquerque this season, Gordon has turned in a 4.82 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 22:6 K:BB across 28 innings.

Slated to start Thursday Rockies manager Bud Black said Wednesday that Gordon will pitch in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Tigers, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Impact Tuesday's game was postponed due to inclement weather, and with Kyle Freeland starting in Game 1, the Rockies will call Gordon up from Triple-A Albuquerque to take the hill in the nightcap. Gordon made eight starts for the Rockies in 2024, losing six of them while posting an 8.65 ERA and 1.72 WHIP over 34.1 innings. He's been better across six starts in Triple-A this season with a 4.82 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 22:6 K:BB across 28 innings.

Impact Gordon hasn't found much success through his first three MLB starts, surrendering 15 earned runs in just 15.1 innings while striking out 12 batters and walking two. Nonetheless, he'll rejoin the Rockies' rotation and presumably remain with the big-league club until German Marquez (elbow) returns from the IL.
