Yandy Díaz - Encouraging MRI results Rays manager Kevin Cash said Wednesday that the MRI results on Diaz's left groin were encouraging, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.
Impact Diaz didn't play in Wednesday's loss to the Marlins after exiting Tuesday's game with groin tightness. While it's not clear when he might be ready to return to the lineup, it does appear he will be able to avoid the injured list for the time being. Diaz dealt with a left groin issue earlier this season, as well, and didn't require an IL stint at that time.

Impact Eflin's early exit initially appeared to a result of him being knocked around by the Miami offense, but Tampa Bay later relayed that an injury played a role in the right-hander being lifted after 53 pitches. The Rays will likely evaluate Eflin after the game and possibly even in send him in for an MRI before determining whether he'll be ready to make his next turn through the rotation. On a fortunate note for Eflin, it was an injury to his other knee that forced him to the injured list earlier this season, so he doesn't appear to be dealing with a related setback.

Impact Diaz will get examined after he exited Tuesday's 4-1 win with left groin tightness. According to Whitaker, manager Kevin Cash said that Diaz woke up Wednesday feeling no worse than Tuesday, so the Rays are optimistic that the 31-year-old won't have to go on the injured list as a result of the groin issue. Luke Raley will replace him at first base and will bat cleanup Wednesday.

Impact Lowe took George Soriano deep in the sixth inning to tally his 11th homer of the campaign. Though it was only his second time clearing the fences since returning from the injured list July 4, Lowe has two homers and a double across his last seven games. He has also struck out at only a 17.9 percent clip since his return, which has helped him maintain a .250 average and .357 on-base percentage across 56 plate appearances.

Impact Fairbanks was called upon to protect a four-run lead, and he did so with little issue.
