Notches second quality start Cecconi (3-3) earned the win Sunday against the Athletics, allowing six hits and one walk over seven shutout innings with three strikeouts.
Impact The Cleveland right-hander scattered six singles en route to his second consecutive win, as he stymied the Athletics lineup in a difficult road park. With this performance, Cecconi lowered his season ERA from 4.15 to 3.38 across 37.1 total frames. The former Diamondback has found a groove in June, pitching to a fantastic 2.05 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 20:7 K:BB over 22 innings. Cecconi is currently scheduled to make his next start against the Cardinals at home next weekend.

Picks up second win Cecconi (2-3) allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out six over five innings to earn the win Tuesday versus the Giants.
Impact Cecconi continues to be a fine fifth starter for the Guardians, though the results hadn't been going his way prior to Tuesday. He still didn't get much run support, but Gabriel Arias' go-ahead solo shot for Cleveland in the sixth inning was enough for Cecconi to get the win. He's covered five innings in all three of his starts in June, allowing a total of five runs with a 17:6 K:BB across 15 innings in that span. He's now at a 4.15 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 34:11 K:BB through 30.1 innings over six starts this season. The right-hander's next start is projected to be on the road versus the Athletics this weekend.

Fans eight in tough loss Cecconi (1-3) took the loss Tuesday, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over five innings as the Guardians fell 1-0 to the Reds. He struck out eight.
Impact The eight Ks tied his season high, but Cecconi simply got out-dueled by Andrew Abbott, who tossed his first career shutout. Cecconi also avoided serving up a homer for the first time in five starts, and while he still needs to tighten up his efficiency -- he's lasted longer than five innings only once since joining the rotation -- the right-hander sports a respectable 4.26 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 28:8 K:BB through his first 25.1 innings for Cleveland. He'll hope for a little more run support in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week in San Francisco.

Stuck with loss Cecconi (1-2) took the loss Thursday against the Yankees, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks across five innings. He struck out three.
Impact Cecconi got no run support in the loss, as the Yankees' pitching staff shut the Guardians out. Still, it was a decent outing for the 26-year-old, especially considering he allowed five runs and three homers in his most recent start. In four appearances this season, Cecconi has a 4.87 ERA and a 20:7 K:BB across 20.1 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Reds for his next start.

Gives up five runs Saturday Cecconi did not factor into the decision in Saturday's game against the Angels. He allowed five runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out three across 4.1 innings.
Impact Cecconi kept things scoreless through the first two innings before giving up five runs over the next three frames, including three home runs to Yoan Moncada, Taylor Ward and Jo Adell. It's the most runs Cecconi has given up across three starts this season, but he was able to avoid the loss as the Guardians' batters came alive from the fifth frame onward. Cecconi has a 5.28 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 17:5 K:BB across 15.1 innings this season. He's slated to face the Astros at home next weekend.

Re-entering rotation Saturday Cecconi (groin) is scheduled to start Saturday's game against the Angels, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Impact The right-hander was scratched from his start Wednesday against the Dodgers due to mild groin tightness, but his outing will only end up being pushed back a few days. The injury results in a more favorable matchup for Cecconi, who has a 3.27 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 14:2 K:BB in his first two starts after opening the season on the injured list due to an oblique strain.

Managing groin issue Cecconi won't start as scheduled Wednesday against the Dodgers due to mild groin tightness, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Impact It's not believed to be a serious injury, but the Cecconi will be pushed back from making his third start of the season Wednesday. The Guardians could have the right-hander pitch this weekend versus the Angels, but team off days Thursday and Monday would allow the team to simply skip his turn through the rotation to provide Cecconi some extra rest.

Earns first win of 2025 Cecconi (1-1) came away with the win in Friday's game against the Tigers. He allowed one run on five hits and two walks while striking out six across six innings.
Impact Cecconi was able to keep the Tigers off the board until the sixth inning, when he yielded a solo home run to Spencer Torkelson. Cecconi was able to finish off the frame to earn his first quality start of the season (and first since June 18 as a member of the Diamondbacks) and finished with 14 whiffs on 84 pitches (56 strikes). He should remain in the Guardians' rotation with Ben Lively (elbow) set to undergo season-ending surgery. Cecconi's next start is slated for next week at home against the Dodgers.
