INJURIES

Short start in no-decision Cecconi took home a no-decision Wednesday against the Twins after tossing 3.2 innings where he allowed three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out four.
Impact Cecconi had six straight starts of five innings or more heading into the game, but an inefficient fourth inning where he allowed four hits and a walk, forced the righty to exit. After June, where Cecconi had a 1.88 ERA over 28.2 innings, the hurler has started July on a rough note, giving up eight earned runs in 8.2 innings with a 1.96 WHIP. The 27-year-old is not scheduled to start again until after the All-Star Game.
1 DAY AGO • ROTOWIRE
Throttled in no-decision Cecconi took a no-decision Thursday against the White Sox, allowing five runs on nine hits and one walk in five-plus innings. He struck out three.
Impact A staggering six of Cecconi's nine hits allowed went for extra bases, three of which came in the fifth inning alone, and a Chase Meidroth two-run home run chased the hurler from the outing in the sixth frame. The 27-year-old right-hander stumbled dramatically Thursday, as he worked at least five innings while yielding two runs or fewer in all five of his starts in June. Cecconi will take a subpar 4.44 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 73:30 K:BB over 95.1 innings into his next scheduled outing against the Twins.

Extends strong stretch Cecconi (4-6) earned the win over Seattle on Saturday, allowing three hits and issuing two walks while striking out four batters over six innings.
Impact Cecconi notched just eight whiffs and four punchouts, but the Mariners couldn't turn their contact into much production. The right-hander didn't allow any batters to reach third base and recorded his second scoreless outing of six innings this season. Cecconi also picked up his first win since May 18, though he's been pitching quite well of late. Over five outings in June, he's posted a 1.88 ERA across 28.2 frames with three quality starts. He'll try to carry that momentum over to July in what's projected to be a home matchup against the White Sox his next time out.

Holds Astros in check Cecconi (3-6) took the loss Sunday against Houston, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out one.
Impact Cecconi wasn't dominant Sunday, fanning a season-low one, but he was effective enough to hold the Astros to just a pair of runs. The 26-year-old right-hander is putting together a strong month of June, giving up two runs or fewer while working at least five frames in each of his past four starts. Cecconi will take a middling 4.48 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 66:27 K:BB over 84.1 frames into his next scheduled outing at home versus the Mariners.

One out shy of quality start Cecconi didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Brewers after tossing 5.2 innings of one-run ball, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out four.
Impact Cecconi has failed to pitch at least six innings in four of his last five outings, so he hasn't contributed much in terms of quality starts, but his performances have been solid. This was his third consecutive outing allowing two or fewer runs, and he's gone eight in a row without allowing more than three. Over that eight-game stretch, Cecconi owns a 2.95 ERA with a 1.27 WHIP and 7.8 K/9. He's scheduled to make his next start this weekend on the road against the Astros.

Limits Yankees Tuesday Cecconi did not factor into the decision Tuesday against New York, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven across five innings.
Impact All of Cecconi's damage came on a Spencer Jones two-run homer in the second inning. The right-hander didn't post a single 1-2-3 inning all outing but managed to strand runners consistently and limit the damage to just that one big swing. He's now allowed three or fewer earned runs in seven straight starts, a stretch that stands in contrast to a season ERA of 4.83 alongside a 1.44 WHIP. Cecconi is set up against Milwaukee on the road in his next scheduled start.

Keeps Yankees in check Cecconi took a no-decision Thursday against the Yankees, allowing one run on four hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out four.
Impact Cecconi put together one of his best outings of the year, tossing at least six innings while yielding one run or zero for just the second time this season. It was the first time the 26-year-old right-hander accomplished this feat since his April 5 start versus the Cubs, though it's worth noting he did face a Yankees lineup that was without superstar Aaron Judge (ribs) on Thursday. Cecconi is set to carry an underwhelming 4.92 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 54:21 over 67.2 innings into a home rematch with the Yankees, and it remains to be seen if Judge will be back in action by then.

MAY 30 • AWAYBACKGONE.COM
Stumbles late in no-decision Cecconi did not factor into the decision in Friday's 4-3 win over the Red Sox, allowing three runs on seven hits and no walks with three strikeouts over 4.1 innings.
Impact Cecconi was staked to an early 4-0 lead and opened with four scoreless frames before allowing three runs while recording just one out in the fifth inning. The 26-year-old tied a season low with 69 pitches, which ironically came in the only other start this season in which he did not issue a walk. He'll carry a 5.25 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 50:20 K:BB across 61.2 innings into a tough road matchup against the Yankees next week.

MAY 30 • Associated Press
Stuck with fifth loss Cecconi (3-5) took the loss Saturday as the Guardians were blanked 3-0 by the Phillies, giving up three runs on six hits and a walk over five-plus innings. He struck out five.
Impact The right-hander didn't pitch poorly over his 86 pitches (57 strikes), but Cecconi got out-dueled by Zack Wheeler. Cecconi did keep the ball in the yard for the third time in his last four starts, an encouraging turnaround after he served up eight homers in his first seven outings of the year. His ERA during that stretch was 6.56 through 35.2 innings; since he began doing a better job of limiting long balls, that's dropped to a 2.91 ERA in 21.2 frames with a 1.34 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB. He'll look to get back in the win column in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Red Sox.
