Holds Astros in check
Cecconi (3-6) took the loss Sunday against Houston, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out one.
Impact
Cecconi wasn't dominant Sunday, fanning a season-low one, but he was effective enough to hold the Astros to just a pair of runs. The 26-year-old right-hander is putting together a strong month of June, giving up two runs or fewer while working at least five frames in each of his past four starts. Cecconi will take a middling 4.48 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 66:27 K:BB over 84.1 frames into his next scheduled outing at home versus the Mariners.

One out shy of quality start
Cecconi didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Brewers after tossing 5.2 innings of one-run ball, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out four.
Impact
Cecconi has failed to pitch at least six innings in four of his last five outings, so he hasn't contributed much in terms of quality starts, but his performances have been solid. This was his third consecutive outing allowing two or fewer runs, and he's gone eight in a row without allowing more than three. Over that eight-game stretch, Cecconi owns a 2.95 ERA with a 1.27 WHIP and 7.8 K/9. He's scheduled to make his next start this weekend on the road against the Astros.

Limits Yankees Tuesday
Cecconi did not factor into the decision Tuesday against New York, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven across five innings.
Impact
All of Cecconi's damage came on a Spencer Jones two-run homer in the second inning. The right-hander didn't post a single 1-2-3 inning all outing but managed to strand runners consistently and limit the damage to just that one big swing. He's now allowed three or fewer earned runs in seven straight starts, a stretch that stands in contrast to a season ERA of 4.83 alongside a 1.44 WHIP. Cecconi is set up against Milwaukee on the road in his next scheduled start.

Keeps Yankees in check
Cecconi took a no-decision Thursday against the Yankees, allowing one run on four hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out four.
Impact
Cecconi put together one of his best outings of the year, tossing at least six innings while yielding one run or zero for just the second time this season. It was the first time the 26-year-old right-hander accomplished this feat since his April 5 start versus the Cubs, though it's worth noting he did face a Yankees lineup that was without superstar Aaron Judge (ribs) on Thursday. Cecconi is set to carry an underwhelming 4.92 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 54:21 over 67.2 innings into a home rematch with the Yankees, and it remains to be seen if Judge will be back in action by then.

Stumbles late in no-decision
Cecconi did not factor into the decision in Friday's 4-3 win over the Red Sox, allowing three runs on seven hits and no walks with three strikeouts over 4.1 innings.
Impact
Cecconi was staked to an early 4-0 lead and opened with four scoreless frames before allowing three runs while recording just one out in the fifth inning. The 26-year-old tied a season low with 69 pitches, which ironically came in the only other start this season in which he did not issue a walk. He'll carry a 5.25 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 50:20 K:BB across 61.2 innings into a tough road matchup against the Yankees next week.

Stuck with fifth loss
Cecconi (3-5) took the loss Saturday as the Guardians were blanked 3-0 by the Phillies, giving up three runs on six hits and a walk over five-plus innings. He struck out five.
Impact
The right-hander didn't pitch poorly over his 86 pitches (57 strikes), but Cecconi got out-dueled by Zack Wheeler. Cecconi did keep the ball in the yard for the third time in his last four starts, an encouraging turnaround after he served up eight homers in his first seven outings of the year. His ERA during that stretch was 6.56 through 35.2 innings; since he began doing a better job of limiting long balls, that's dropped to a 2.91 ERA in 21.2 frames with a 1.34 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB. He'll look to get back in the win column in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Red Sox.

Fires 7.1 innings of two-run ball
Cecconi (3-4) earned the win Monday against the Tigers, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks in 7.1 innings. He struck out four.
Impact
The 26-year-old right-hander delivered perhaps his finest performance of the year, spinning a season-high 7.1 frames in what was only his second quality start thus far. Cecconi has still been highly erratic for the Guardians overall, giving up at least four runs in five of his 10 starts while surrendering two or fewer in the other half. Despite Monday's showing, Cecconi might still be tough to trust when he brings a 5.16 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 42:19 K:BB over 52.1 innings into a difficult road assignment against the Phillies.

Fans seven in no-decision
Cecconi didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Angels, allowing five hits and a walk over four scoreless innings. He struck out seven.
Impact
Inefficiency cost Cecconi a chance at his third win of the season, as the right-hander needed 89 pitches (59 strikes) to record just 12 outs and left the mound with Cleveland ahead 2-0. Cecconi has completed six innings only once in nine starts, and he'll take a 5.60 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 38:17 K:BB through 45 innings into his next outing, which is set to come on the road early next week in Detroit.
