Impact The addition of Jankowski provides the Mariners with some much-needed depth in the outfield while all of Julio Rodriguez (wrist), Dylan Moore (back), Taylor Trammell (hamstring) and Mitch Haniger (ankle) are on the injured list and while Sam Haggerty (forehead) is day-to-day. The latter three players could be fully available by the weekend, so Jankowski may not have much longevity on the Mariners' active roster.

Jonathan Villar - Signs with Seattle Villar signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners on Monday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Impact Villar elected to become a free agent after being designated for assignment by the Angels, and he decided to head up the coast and join the Mariners. While Villar will begin his Mariners tenure in the minors, he could get a shot to show what he can do with the big club before the campaign comes to a close.

Alex Bregman - Scratched from Monday's lineup Bregman was scratched from the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Impact Bregman is not dealing with any sort of injury, but his wife went into labor with the couple's child, and he will leave the team for the time being to be with her. Aledmys Diaz will take Bregman's place at third base, and Chas McCormick will replace Diaz in left field.
