Dansby Swanson - Exits with side tightness Swanson was removed from Tuesday's game against the Mariners with left side tightness, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.
Impact The 29-year-old went 4-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored before being removed from the contest. Swanson threw one ball to first base during infield warmups ahead of the sixth inning before he motioned to the dugout and left the field. It's unclear if he'll be available for Wednesday's series finale, though it wouldn't be surprising to see the Cubs illustrate caution, especially with a scheduled day off coming Thursday.

Robbie Ray - Not cleared to throw yet Mariners manager Scott Servais told reporters that Ray (elbow) hasn't started throwing yet but is feeling better, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact Ray is still waiting for clearance to throw after being diagnosed with a Grade 1 flexor strain after his first start of the season on April 1. The left-hander is expected to miss at least a month of the campaign while recovering, but there's no clear timeline for the 2021 Cy Young winner.

Taylor Trammell - Closing in on rehab games Trammell (hand) is close to returning to Triple-A Tacoma for rehab games, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact Trammell had surgery in the middle of February to repair a broken hamate bone in his right hand and was unable to participate in the Cactus League. He's currently training in Arizona in extending spring training, and he will soon report to the minors to begin what will likely be a lengthy rehab assignment for the 25-year-old.

Cade Marlowe - Getting closer to playing in games Marlowe (oblique) is getting closer to playing in games, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact Marlowe has not been able to play this season while recovering from a right oblique strain suffered early in the Cactus League. The 25-year-old hit 23 homers while swiping 42 bases across 1033 games between Triple-A Tacoma and Double-A Arkansas in 2022. Marlowe stands a good chance of making his MLB debut for the Mariners at some point before the 2023 season concludes.

Codi Heuer - Scheduled for live BP on Tuesday Heuer (elbow) will throw a one-inning live batting practice Tuesday, Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic reports.
Impact After undergoing Tommy John surgery back in March 2022, Heuer continues to progress through the rehab process and has now been cleared to face hitters. He still has a ways to go and will likely require a lengthy minor-league rehab assignment, but he remains on track to return around mid-June.

Evan White - Placed on 60-day IL White was placed on the 60-day injured list Sunday with a left adductor strain.
Impact White suffered the injury while playing in a game with Triple-A Tacoma last week, but he'll be moved to the 60-day major-league IL so that the Mariners can clear out a 40-man roster spot. The 26-year-old former top prospect hasn't appeared in a game at the MLB level since May 2021 due to a combination of injuries and ineffectiveness. He holds a career .165/.235/.308 big-league batting line.
