Rafael Devers - Supplies early offense in win Devers went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a double, a second RBI and two total runs scored in Sunday's 13-2 win over the Orioles.
Impact Devers knocked in the Giants' first two runs in the romp, hitting a solo shot in the first inning before adding an RBI single in the third. He closed out August in good form, hitting five homers and supplying 12 RBI over his last 13 games of the month. He's now at a .262/.381/.484 slash line with 28 homers, 93 RBI, 81 runs scored, one stolen base and 30 doubles across 138 contests between San Francisco and Boston this year.

Spencer Bivens - Secures three-inning save Bivens allowed two runs on six hits and a walk while failing to record a strikeout over three innings, earning the save in Sunday's 13-2 win over the Orioles.
Impact Bivens was able to help spare the bullpen and came away with his second career save. The right-hander has done fine in a multi-inning relief role this year. He allowed eight runs (six earned) while posting an 8:4 K:BB over 16 innings across nine appearances in August. For the season, he has a 4.28 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 51:21 K:BB through 69.1 innings, all coming out of the bullpen.
SEPTEMBER 1 • ROTOWIRE
Justin Verlander - Strikes out 10 in win Verlander (3-10) allowed three hits and four walks while striking out 10 over five scoreless innings to earn the win Sunday over the Orioles.
Impact Verlander's pitch count got elevated quickly, but the Giants let him work long enough to qualify for the win since they held a commanding 7-0 lead through four innings. All told, he threw 81 of 121 pitches for strikes in this outing. He also recorded double-digit strikeouts for the first time in the regular season since his last start of 2022. He allowed 15 runs (13 earned) over 32.1 innings across his six starts in August, though he finished the month with a pair of wins. Overall, he has a 4.29 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 114:43 K:BB across 121.2 innings through 24 starts. Verlander's next outing is projected to be at St. Louis, assuming his heavy workload Sunday doesn't force him to take extra rest.

Matt Chapman - Doesn't expect to miss time Chapman left Sunday's win over the Orioles early after fouling a ball of his left shin/foot, but he's "fine" and expects to be in the starting lineup Monday, Shayna Rubin of the Sa...
Impact San Francisco was ahead 8-0 in the sixth inning at the time of Chapman's removal, and he was able to complete his plate appearance before being pulled, so it appears the third baseman's exit was precautionary. Nonetheless, fantasy managers who roster Chapman may be best served by keeping an eye on the Giants' lineup Monday to make sure the team does indeed give him the go-ahead to play.
AUGUST 31 • ROTOWIRE
Matt Chapman - Exits early with possible injury Chapman was pulled from Sunday's game against Baltimore after fouling a ball off his left shin/foot, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Impact Chapman was in clear pain after the foul ball, but he remained in the game and worked a walk. However, he was subsequently replaced at first base by Casey Schmitt. The Giants were up 8-0 in the sixth inning at the time Chapman departed, so it's possible his removal was simply precautionary. San Francisco may provide an update on the veteran third baseman after he gets looked at.
AUGUST 31 • ROTOWIRE
Casey Schmitt - Receiving day off Schmitt is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.
Impact Christian Koss will fill in for Schmitt at second base in the series finale. Schmitt will get a chance to clear his head after he slashed just .170/.235/.340 with a 25.5 percent strikeout rate while starting in each of the Giants' last 12 games.
AUGUST 31 • ROTOWIRE
Jung Hoo Lee - Getting rest Sunday Lee is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.
Impact Drew Gilbert will get the start in center field while Lee receives what appears to be a routine rest day in the series finale. Lee had started in each of the Giants' last four contests and went 4-for-16 with a double, a walk, two runs and an RBI.
AUGUST 31 • ROTOWIRE
Kai-Wei Teng - Promoted, joining rotation Monday The Giants recalled Teng from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, and he's expected to start Monday's game against the Rockies in Colorado, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle r...
Impact The right-hander has struggled to an 8.78 ERA across 13.1 frames in the majors this season, but he'll receive another opportunity with the Giants after starter Carson Whisenhunt (back) was placed on the injured list Sunday. Despite his struggles over four outings with the Giants, Teng has been effective for Sacramento this season with a 3.63 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 89:22 K:BB across 57 innings.
AUGUST 31 • ROTOWIRE
Carson Whisenhunt - Out with back strain The Giants placed Whisenhunt on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a back strain, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Impact The left-hander presumably suffered the injury during his start Wednesday against the Cubs, during which he picked up the win after allowing three runs across five innings. Whisenhunt will be eligible to be reinstated in mid-September, though it's unclear if he's expected to be healthy by that point. Kai-Wei Teng was called up from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move and will take Whisenhunt's place in the rotation Monday at Colorado.
AUGUST 31 • ROTOWIRE
Willy Adames - Goes yard in loss Adames went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 11-1 loss to the Orioles.
Impact Adames homered in the first inning to give San Francisco a 1-0 lead, though it would mark the only Giants run in the blowout loss. The shortstop has tallied three home runs in his last three games and has been productive of late, slashing .324/.422/.811 with 10 runs scored, nine RBI, six homers and two stolen bases across 45 plate appearances in his last 10 outings. Overall, the 29-year-old has recorded a .230/.317/.423 slash line with 83 runs scored, 71 RBI, 25 home runs and eight stolen bases across 575 plate appearances in 134 games this season.
AUGUST 31 • ROTOWIRE
Randy RodrĂguez - To undergo Tommy John surgery Rodriguez (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery, Andres Soto of MLB.com reports.
Impact Rodriguez was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday (retroactive to Aug. 23) due to a right elbow injury. He's now expected to miss the 2026 season after opting for Tommy John surgery, which typically requires a 12-to-18-month recovery. The right-hander previously missed over a month in the second half of the 2024 campaign due to right elbow inflammation, and the pain reportedly never fully subsided. Despite that, the 25-year-old earned his first All-Star selection in 2025, recording a 1.78 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 67:11 K:BB across 50.2 innings in 50 appearances.
AUGUST 31 • ROTOWIRE
Carson Seymour - Struggles through short outing Seymour (0-2) took the loss against Baltimore on Saturday, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two batters over three innings.
Impact Seymour's first MLB start didn't go according to plan, though he was able to begin the game with two scoreless innings. Things imploded for him in the third, however, as the Orioles racked up four runs on a pair of two-run homers in the frame. Seymour wasn't allowed to return for the fourth, and he got only one run of support from San Francisco's offense. It's unclear if he'll get another turn in the rotation after making his first 10 appearances out of the bullpen, but the Giants' have a need for a fifth starter with Landen Roupp (knee) likely to be sidelined until at least late September.

AUGUST 30 • Associated Press
Patrick Bailey - Idle Saturday Bailey isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Baltimore, Andres Soto of MLB.com reports.
Impact Bailey has notched hits in back-to-back contests, but he'll step out of the starting nine Saturday while Andrew Knizner catches for right-hander Carson Seymour and bats ninth.
AUGUST 30 • ROTOWIRE
Spencer Bivens - Picks up win Friday Bivens (3-3) earned the win after throwing 1.2 scoreless relief innings in Friday's 15-8 victory over the Orioles.
Impact Bivens entered the game with a three-run lead and one out in the fifth inning, retiring all five batters he faced on just 11 pitches (five strikes). Over eight appearances this month, the right-hander has recorded a 2.77 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 8:3 K:BB in 13 innings. Overall, the 31-year-old owns a 4.21 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 51:20 K:BB across 66.1 innings in 44 outings.
AUGUST 30 • ROTOWIRE
Matthew Gage - Tosses scoreless outing Friday Gage threw a scoreless inning in Friday's 15-8 win over the Orioles, allowing one hit and striking out one.
Impact Gage gave up a leadoff single but retired the next three batters he faced, throwing 10 of his 15 pitches for strikes. Over 17 appearances with San Francisco, the left-hander has recorded a 1.04 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 17:6 K:BB across 17.1 innings. Overall, he owns a 0.78 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 20:8 K:BB in 23 innings across 23 appearances (two starts) between the Giants and Tigers.
AUGUST 30 • ROTOWIRE
Matt Chapman - Logs two RBI in win Chapman went 1-for-3 with two RBI, two runs scored and one walk in Friday's 15-8 win over the Orioles.
Impact Chapman hit an infield single with the bases loaded in the first inning, driving in San Francisco's first run before later coming around to score. The third baseman added another RBI on a sacrifice fly in the second and drew a walk in the fourth before scoring again. Chapman had struggled earlier this month before being placed on the 10-day injured list due to right hand inflammation. Since being reinstated after a minimum stay, he's slashing .286/.385/.619 with seven runs scored, six RBI, two home runs and two stolen bases across 26 plate appearances in six games.
AUGUST 30 • ROTOWIRE
Drew Gilbert - Doubles twice in win Gilbert went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored in Friday's 15-8 win over the Orioles.
Impact Gilbert lined his first double to right field in the third inning, driving in a run. He later reached on a fielder's choice in the seventh before coming around to score. The 24-year-old added another double in the ninth, bringing in his second RBI of the game. It marked his second big-league outing with multiple hits and multiple RBI. Over 15 appearances, Gilbert is slashing .139/.139/.278 with four RBI, two runs scored, two doubles, one homer and one stolen base across 36 plate appearances.
