Impact Frelick hadn't played since last Tuesday due to a sore left calf, but his inclusion in the lineup and his ability to occupy a spot in the outfield in the spring finale suggests he'll be ready to go for Thursday's season opener versus the Yankees. Impact Frelick played third base often during spring training but moved back to the outfield when Garrett Mitchell fractured his hand shortly before Opening Day and played just four innings at third during the season. However, the club was pleased with how Frelick looked at the hot corner and like the option of using him there, even if it might not be on a regular basis.

On Milwaukee's wild-card roster Frelick (hip) is on the Brewers' roster for the National League Wild Card Series versus the Mets, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Impact Frelick suffered a bone bruise in his left hip during the final weekend of the regular season, but he went through a workout Monday and convinced the Brewers he was healthy enough to be included on their wild-card roster. Impact Frelick went down after crashing hard into the wall in right field while attempting to catch a foul ball in the third inning. He was able to slowly limp off the field under his own power but then needed assistance from the Brewers' training staff getting down the dugout steps and into the clubhouse. An update on his status will likely come in the near future, though it's possible the Brewers sit the 24-year-old down for the final two games of the season with a playoff berth already secured.
