Impact The right-hander was tagged for nine runs during most recent start versus Atlanta on Wednesday and will now be sidelined for at least the next couple weeks. Gusto won't have much time to get healthy before the end of the season, and he won't be guaranteed a rotation spot even if he does return to the mound for the Marlins in 2025.

Impact Gusto got the call back to the big leagues Friday when a spot in the Miami rotation opened up, but the right-hander floundered in his start against the Blue Jays, covering six innings but allowing five earned runs on seven hits and one walk while failing to strike out a batter. Despite the poor showing, Gusto will receive another turn through the rotation, but he'll be a prime candidate to move to the bullpen or head back to Triple-A Jacksonville once Ryan Weathers (lat) is reinstated from the 60-day injured list at some point in September.

Impact Gusto battled through six innings after giving up three runs in the first, but he managed just six whiffs on 90 pitches and allowed 11 hard-hit balls. It was also the first time in 16 starts this year that the 26-year-old failed to record a strikeout. He'll take a 5.05 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 95:31 K:BB across 98 innings as both a starter and reliever into a home matchup with Atlanta next week.
